Also in this series: Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider III, The Last Revelation, Chronicles

2nd dL has both the original v1.0 CD plus the Gold version update.

3rd dL is the Demo version installer, it's the same as the Demo on the full CD except the CD uses a .sea (self extracting archive) installer from year 1994 which doesn't unpack under OSX Classic Env (Tiger tested). The v1.0.3 updater can be applied to the 'Setup' half of the Demo but the primary Demo app does not update.

Architecture: PPC

System requirements:
PowerPC 604e or newer, Mac OS 7.5.3 to 9.2.2,
4x CD-ROM drive, 16 MB of RAM, graphics card with 3D capabilities.

Personally, I don't use patch for Tomb Raider games. More than that, I have finished all the games, without using meds, found all secrets & some easters eggs.

I read TR2 was the first version of TR for the Mac. TR1 was initially for other platforms only (such as PlayStation), and TR1 was retroactively made for Mac after they did TR2. This is why the evolutionary changes in the Mac TombRaider graphics engines progress in this chronological order: TR2 -> TR1 -> TR3 -> TR4 , in which case TR4 no longer runs (acceptably) without a GPU (but TR4 does run great in the Classic Environ of OSX 10.2.8).

The Game Doctor has cheater patches that can be applied to TR2 v1.0.0 but NOT v1.0.3 so by Not updating the TR2 app, you reserve your right to use these cheat-files. Actually, Game Doctor can put patches on up to TR2 v1.0.2 so if anybody finds the v1.0.2 updater then pls share.

Yep. And that's why TRI & TRII works very well with SheepShaver at least... Smile

This entire game plays without any GPU support, and isn't slow on my 1.6Ghz Mirror Door 2003 Mac model. Tomb Raiders I & III play also for me! Without GPU (I erase all my ATIx and NVIDIAx extensions in OS9 because no OS9 extensions work with my graphics card) some rendering in TR1 and TR2 looks crude like water and water surface, but I think TR3 is now the most sophisticated 3D I've found for my GPU-less OS9 - TR3 renders water correctly! I uploaded here the 5MB TR2 Demo version, it has the same engine that functions GPU-less. In the TR2 Demo, Lara can fight a Tiger in the jungle. TR2 Gold version had draw errors until i used its 'Setup' to monkey with graphics settings.

This is certainly stripped down. I have the full image and it's a little over 400 MB zipped. Haven't tried StuffIt yet.
