The Yukon Trail, set during the Klondike Gold Rush of 1897, is a more spirited adventure. From the moment you arrive in Seattle, you are beset upon by con artists and claim-jumpers. You'll face a host of natural obstacles and find that you must make decisions at every turn. These types of circumstances build problem-solving skills.

The Yukon Trail was produced by the creators of The Oregon Trail. Please see the Wikipedia article for more information.

Download #1: A custom image of the Mac game

Download #2: A bin/cue image of a hybrid Mac/PC mixed mode CD with 17 audio tracks. Use the bin/cue pair with Toast (Mac) or ImgBurn (Win) or similar to burn a physical CD containing the game and audio tracks.

Download #3: A Toast image of the hybrid game track (no audio tracks) from the bin/cue. It is much smaller than the .iso file on at the external Mega link above but the mounted image looks identical in appearance and size.

Compatibility
Architecture: 68k x86 (Windows)

The dL #1 ".cdr" image was modified in 2005 and again in 2009. The app file was modified in 2005, for at least having been "registered to" a fake name. There was a font file added in a folder which demands that you "Install this font" but that's optional, too bad it's not self-contained in the game. The font is for your travel "journal" but it'll use a system font when the custom font isn't installed. The demo version of Yukon Trail (on the Amazon Trail CD) also accepts this font tho font wasn't included in the demo.

The Yukon Trail is by far my favorite Trail game from my youth. I played through it so many times, yet particular aspects of the game made it fun to play over and over again.

Unfortunately, Yukon Trail would always crash at some point during the Klondike mining. I could never understand why, but I always thought it was annoying. These days I wonder to myself why I never, ever saved the game, anywhere...

On a side note, I don't need to download Yukon Trail, because I still have that same CD I played when I was a kid. Tongue

crazy, this game looks awesome. Looks pretty comprehensive/decent for an "educational" adventure game! Nice Smile

The first upload includes the wrong file format (HFS+), which makes it unreadable for MacOS 8.0 or earlier.
Fixed now, the new download file includes the correct HFS standard format.
