The Mystery of the Mission Museum is an education project developed at the San Diego State University. This version of the CD-ROM is dated 2003. The 2001 date is the earliest that the software shows up on the product web page via the Wayback Machine.

One of the few real-world roles in which a 4th-grade student can serve is that of a museum guide. The Mission Museum curriculum is based on the idea that some of the things museum guides do are exactly the things we want our students to do -- explore and generate questions; research the answers; deliver presentations as historical characters. The virtual reality Mission Museum CD-ROM serves as an environment in which students can play the role of museum guides. (Product Description)
