Stephen King's 1980 novella The Mist was an acknowledged influence on Half-Life, and an all-but-acknowledged one on Silent Hill. This adaptation — ghostwritten by 007 novelist Raymond Benson — plays like Silent Hill: The Text Adventure, with a small town turned alien by an all-consuming fog and a plague of monsters.

The Mist is an all-text "interactive novel" based on a short story by Stephen King. Vivid, graphic and sometimes gory descriptions compensate for the game's muddled sentence parser. The story is involving, while the game is overly lock-step. $39.95.

No wonder I couldn´t do anything when trying to play the game,
I was guessing the wrong commands
i just got impatient and left it.

Whoops! My earlier upload was incomplete. Here it is with the manuals (which list the standard Angelsoft verbs, including the World Builderesque "examine carefully," as well as others unique to this game) and a save disk (which seems impossible to create under emulation).

I just downloaded the Apple II version
I supposed it´s the same as the Mac as far as what the story is concerned,

(excuse my grammar)

I found a site with pics of the Apple II version of this game, but no scans of the interior of the manual. Apparently it was a generic manual that was included with other Angelsoft games.

Well I´m a big fanatica of the Silent Hill Games (I´ve finished them all except homecoming)
so this better be good.

I found an interesting review here: http://gamingafter40.blogspot.com/2010/10/adventure-of-week-stephen-king...

I've been looking for more information about this game on the web but it's hard to find. Usually with games that appeared on other computers, I can find manual scans and such elsewhere on the web, but other than this page, the most I've found is the DOS version with no extras and a couple of box shots at MobyGames. Even Baf's Guide to the IF Archive doesn't have an entry for it!

Winterlast, do you have the rest of the game's package contents, and would you consider scanning and uploading them? I can help...

I wonder if it has the same "Hitchcockian" ending as the novella. Muhahaha...
