Guides on emulating older games

This was an entry in the "Ludum Dare" programming contest #18 year 2010. Because Ludum Dare rules require the work spans no more than 2 to 3 days, gameplay of collectible quality isn't produced, instead the contests are a way for programmers to showcase techniques and ideas toward other programmers.

The theme behind #18 was "enemies as weapons".

Mac was and still is one of the least numerous platform models found in the contest entries, trailing Windows, Linux, even Flash. In 2010 the majority of Mac contest entries required Intel to run their precompiled binaries, and Unity was their favorite engine. By now, any coherent software that runs on PowerPC and Tiger, runs well like OpenGL, is surely eligible for cataloguing as abandonware.

Have a look at the author's home page for more mini games and artwork. See the ludum dare site(s), still going strong since 2002.

dL 2 is the v1.00 contest entry.
dL 1 is v1.01 tweaked for minor improvements after the contest had closed.

Architecture: PPC x86 (Intel:Mac)

OS X 10.4 Tiger and up, possibly 10.3.9 (untested).
