This game works with: SheepShaver,

A sequel to The Journeyman Project: Turbo and The Journeyman Project 2: Buried in Time.

From Wikipedia:

Despite Agent 5's success in the previous games, time travel technology is deemed unsafe and the TSA is forced to close down. However, Agent 3, the culprit from Buried in Time causes a temporal rip and Gage Blackwood must travel back in time to find her, and discovers that aliens had destroyed an ancient Earth civilization. After finding Agent 3, he learns that a mysterious alien fleet has appeared in Symbiotry space and is heading towards Earth, looking for an ancient alien relic known as the Legacy of Time. Joining once again with his AI buddy Arthur, he must track down the pieces of the Legacy in the mythical cities of Atlantis, Shangri La, and El Dorado.

The game were distributed on hybrid Mac/PC CDs originally.

Well, so, why bin/cue?

Thanks for this tiny question! For preserving timestamps just as well, you know. May be it was not necessary as I get a .img first, then created a Toast image when other Windows part was added. Anyway, it was fun to get this result. Smile

Yep, really too bad for the full game, but, nevertheless, I know where to find it on the web. Wink

[EDIT] I have added on this page a French version. This one was requested back in the day...

Thanks, Franky. I finally got to take a look at the demo. It works well in both Mac OS 9.2.2 and Windows 98SE (Virtual PC). I haven't tried it on other OS versions.

Oddity for me is why bin/cue? As the bin is only a single track, not multitrack.

Anyway, with ImgBurn I burned the bin/cue to CD-RW, then got ImgBurn to rip to .iso. The .iso I moved to an eMac G4 running 9.2.2 and it mounted OK with the Virtual CD/DVD Utility and played fine in this Mac. With the .iso still mounted, I ran Win 98SE with Virtual PC 6 and as it "sees" mounted images as physical disks, I could play it in Windows as well.

Pity the publishers demanded the take-down of the full game.

YW! Feel free to test it. And, tell me if there is something wrong or not. Wink

If you have any questions... Smile

Thanks for the demo version, Franky.

Yeah ! Lol. Smile

Sorry if timestamps would not be preserved for the demo. Of course, it concerns only the volume or some folders. I don't modify files except if it's absolutely necessary or really required. Wink

PS. The French version of the game I told you is here

I thought that must have been the (MYST)erious game you were planning to upload. Thanks ! Smile

Ok. So, I will do asap. The demo includes the same trailer you've uploaded. The Mac side looks good. The other side requires Windows 95 or 98 for installation. But the game itself (located in the "J3DATA" folder) can be launched with more recent versions (the sound plays with echo however).

PS. The French version of the game I told you is here, but I presume you already know... Smile

Yes, you may as well, I can't see a problem having a demo of the game. If it gets a take down from somewhere else, then so be it. - Hybrid demo sounds good (easier to access for most) up to you tho' as to what you want to add, Franky. Thanks.

Yes, it's look like a trailer, not a demo. Do you want I add a Bin/Cue or at least a hybrid Toast image of the demo disc?

I suppose it's a working demo of the game. I'll look inside myself...

Thanks Franky, I did take a look at it and it's a QuickTime promo, advertising it's forthcoming December 1997 release - given the MF 61 issue was March '98, that promo was already in the past.

[Edit] I added to the page above.

Hi Mike,

I suppose it's a working demo of the game. I'll look inside myself... I know there is also a demo with Riven.

...a functional demo in a Disk Copy image

I don't think there should be a problem with it, if it's a somewhat crippled demo.

There is (described as a "Preview" in DiskTracker) here at the MG on issue MacFormat 61 (March 1998), a 40+MB archive of The Journeyman Project 3. But I haven't looked at it to see what it's like - whether it is a working demo or a simple trailer.

I've just created myself a functional demo in a Disk Copy image, but don't know if it could be uploaded here...

[EDIT] I think I could rebuild a Bin/Cue Hybrid image for the demo disc if someone is interested. If not, I can also keep that for myself... Tongue

I still remember playing this one with my brother. I owned a French localized version 20 years ago. May be we can at least put some demos here ? I know there is one "hidden" on the Garden...
