This game works with: SheepShaver,

"Terminal Velocity is a first-person flight simulator sometimes compared to Descent due to its free-roaming nature. Players take control of the TV-202, a fighter notable for its ability to fly in 720 degrees of direction, ignoring gravity and providing constant thrust. While flying to different planets, the TV-202 is able to speed up and slow down, but will never come to a complete halt. The majority of the game takes place in the air (and sometimes space), flying above landscapes which include trees, mountains, rivers, snow and other terrain. Additionally, tunnels can be found, often hidden, dug into the sides of landscape. Upon entering these tunnels, the TV-202 loses its ability to turn around (going ahead constantly) and must navigate avoiding enemies, moving walls, rotating obstacles and other hazards. Power-ups are found by destroying enemy forces or destroying enemy bunkers which are scattered around each level."

Hybrid Mac/PC Toast image, compressed with StuffIt 5.5. Note that the PC partition is empty...that is how it is on the original disc.

Since the game does not require the CD in drive, I've uploaded another (smaller) archive of the game; simply download, extract and play.

[For some strange reason, it only shows a black screen when I try to play it on my iBook running OS 9.1; however, it works fine on desktop iMacs running OS 8.6 and OS 9.2.]

The PC version is available on GOG.

Are we sure it can run on m68k? I swear the demo was PPC only.

----you should use the "Copy" function in Toast----

That is precisely what I have done, exactly as I have done with every other disk have imaged for here. The iso partition is empty because that it really IS empty...I hadn't noticed before as I never check that partition, except to make sure it exists. I have noted this in the description now.

I'm curious... was this new Mac/PC Toast image intended to have the DOS version of the game in the ISO partition? The ISO partition is empty. If the disc indeed has the DOS version, you should use the "Copy" function in Toast to get an exact copy of the entire disc, not the "Mac & PC" function under "Data." Actually, regardless of whether the disc has multiple partitions, you should always use "Copy" when imaging CD-ROMs.

Uploaded an image of an original CD. Deleted previous unmountable image.

Anyone got a copy of the D/L that MCP provided some time ago as an alternative? The version here is an img file that seems to be unmountable by Shrinkwrap, DiskCopy, or Toast, as others below have experienced.

FYI, I got this running in SheepShaver.

This is a ShrinkWrap image. It can't be mounted with Disk Copy.

Well, I tested it before the upload and it works fine under Classic. Try opening the app. file and the cd image may auto-mount.

I have always had mixed feelings about this game. The controls are simpler than Descent, but the ship's harder to maneuver. Combat is more realistic, but because of that you're always under fire. The music is cool, but there's only one track per world while Descent had one per level (for a total of ten, repeated throughout thirty levels). And so on. I guess if Descent would have never been released, Terminal Velocity would have been the greatest space shooter of the era. But Descent was released and this is classic remains in (a solid) second place. Still deserves five stars though.

Question: I'm having trouble with corrupted saved game when saving inside a tunnel. Sometimes the textures go crazy and things go back to normal when you exit, but sometimes I get an error saying "can't load powerup" or something and the game exits. Have anybody else experienced this?
