It is slow on my Macintosh LC475 for the 68k version. The ppc version plays good on my macintosh performa 6116 and like a dream with the sonnet nubus G3 drivers installed.

Reposting the timer solution as the link is dead. On a side note, it would be nice for someone to upload a save game file.

"I did figure this one out a little while after I posted... figured I'd post it here just in case anyone else ran into the same problem.

On my iBook 600Mhz, I was playing the game in Mac OS 9.2, since it is not a native Mac OS X application. Unfortunately, I was running into the timer issues, and needed a way to slow it down.

Couldn't find any slowdown apps for Mac, so I restarted the iBook back into Mac OS X, and put it into a high res, because I noticed SQ6 kinda jerked along that way. I ran the 68k binary straight from the CD, which caused some slowdown. There was additional slowdown due to the fact that it had to run through the Classic environment. The slow-down from the palette and res differences between SQ6 and the rest of OS X did the trick. It jerked slowly through the problem area. Saved and restarted under OS 9.2, and its been great ever since. Very Happy

Hope this helps any frustrated Mac users out there. If anyone is interested I will be happy to provide my save file as well."

There's a timing issue with this game, but I can't seem to find a working patch. They talk about it here: http://www.spacequest.net/misc/timerissues/index.shtml Most of the links are dead, however.

Figured it out, restart classic via system preferences, with extensions off. Sorry, a little sloe sometimes.

Thank you for the download, but does anyone know how to open saved games? I read the crash problem, but I didn't really understand how to fix it. I'm running on classic, maybe it can't? Any help would be appreciated.
