There appears to be a fix. Larry 1 with AGI 2.06 works in 16 colours, on Basilisk II with some issues, works without errors on my LC 475 in 24bit mode. So keep an eye out for 2.x releases, only the interpreter seems to have changed (1991 date stamp), the other files and game version appear to be unchanged. Can someone upload Version 2.0.6 of the game, or the patch for 2.0.6.
I am sure that Version 2.0.6 will work on Macintosh LC.
I found out the reason for the issue with the color versions, it appears to be a incompatibility caused by the move from 24-bit to 32-bit quickdraw. The issue was never fixed, see section 2 at: http://www.savagetaylor.com/2019/12/15/68k-macintosh-and-sierra-agi-games/
yes!
@dr.zeissler: Can your LC's monitor display 16 colors at 640x480 resolution?
I used an old LC with 6.08. on this with no luck. Only monochrome works. 16 colors are corrupted.
This is pretty bad. Do I have to use scummvm on a modern mac, to run this.
Black & White 9" machines, or up to 16 colors only.
On what config/system do these old Sierra Adventures work?
I have no luck with my 68k Quadra700. Even if I disable cpu-caches,
disable 32bit adressing, sending the machine back to 1999.
I am using 7.1.3
it locks up when i try to run this on my powerbook 180c
I had a different version of the game growing up that was on 2 disks instead of 1
that version used to work until the disk went bad.
I wonder if anyone could upload a copy of that?
wow this is a blast from the past:D
