This is a spiffed-up remake of the original Space Quest 1. It's almost identical to the original except for the improved graphics, sounds and music. And it uses the (then new) mouse-driven icon interface.

You play as janitor Roger Wilco, who works on the space station Arcada. The evil Sariens attack the station and steal the Star Generator, killing everyone while you survive by sleeping in a storage closet. Realizing that the Sariens will use the Star Generator as a weapon of mass destruction, you decide to stop them.

Running Basilisk II, I can get this game to load but the animation sequences dont work properly. The title music plays and the SPACE QUEST logo flashes, but it doesn't do anything. It doesn't move past this. If I skip it, I then see the two ships and the cursor just has the hour glass. The alien ship doesn't clamp down like it should in the animation.

On LC 475 you perhaps deactivated 32Bit adressing?

I get errors very often on all my Powerpc Macs (Performa 6116, Powermac G3 Minitower, Imac G3, Powermac G4 MDD) but i have managed to finish this game on my Performa 6116 with the amazing roland mt32 for sound. This game and also other games from Sierra On Line seem to have problems with the powerpc computers. On my Macintosh LC475 all these games run perfectly.

Can't get this one to work on a 1st gen PowerPC Mac. The installer freezes the Mac. If copying the files over manually, I get a type 10 error when trying to start the game. This seems to be 68k Mac only, unless there is a PPC patch somewhere. (judging from the 'support' Sierra always showed for the Mac, I have my doubts)

Sidenote: Beefed up the description on this one!
