"SiN Gold is a compilation of SiN and its add-on Wages of Sin. It is the first release of those titles for the Macintosh." --MobyGames.com

"SiN is a first-person shooter that uses a modified version of the Quake II engine. John Blade is armed with a rather standard FPS arsenal, starting with a default bare knuckles and a pistol, and ending with heavy guns such as rocket launcher and plasma rifles. The game is notable for being the first FPS that had missions exclusively based on stealth (i.e., the game is automatically lost if the hero is detected). The game incorporates realistic damage effects: headshots are instantly effective, while shooting an enemy in the knees will merely hinder his movements. SiN also includes the option of hacking computer terminals to disable security.

Cutscenes are employed to advance the plot between the levels. At certain times, the outcome of a mission will be different depending on the player's actions during it. Taking a cue from Duke Nukem 3D, SiN features a wise-cracking main hero, humorous 'easter eggs', and environments with a high degree of interaction." --MobyGames.com

The 1.1.3 patch included with this allows it to work with OS X. I can confirm this working on OS X (with Classic turned off) on my eMac G4, Mac OS X 10.4.11

as long as it supports os 9 and aint too slow or difficult to play, i dont got a problem with it. it is hella big though, but thats mainly because its the image of a game cd. lots of "screenies" aint bad for me, in fact i prefer it over games with 1 or none because it gives me a feel of the graphics. of course, if its free-roam ala the GTA series, then its even better. games where i cant explore 3d worlds get borin fast. no way do i want a game to order me around like i cant make choices of where to go and what to do on my own. thats too much like the real world. and to that type of game, i would say no thanks. hopefully, that aint this game's type. i wont need an updater, it sounds like. yaaaaay!!!

BTW there is actually an OS X updater, but I think that only works with 10.2

Hi again,

I found a patch on macgamefiles.com. It fixes this and some other problems. The game refused to start because it couldn't find the Indeo codec on my german localized system. It looks for a folder called "Extensions" and if this is not the exact name of the folder, it doesn't find it. The patch fixes this and some other problems related to localized systems.

Hi everybody,

I tried to play this on my 5500 (with Sonnet G3/500) and OS9.2.2, 128MB RAM. It stops with the message that I have to put the Intel Indeo Video 5 extension in the system folder. Needless to say that it has already been there anyway, I tried and put the one from the game in it - same result.

Any ideas? Thanks!
