The screenshots I took of the game a little while back are from my 2009 Macbook Pro with Intel Core2Duo running Snow Leopard. They seem to be going for a couple hundred dollars USD on ebay at the moment, if something like that interests you. Plus you should be able to burn a disc from one (as long as the drive works!).

CORRECTION - I didn't finish making the NoCD, because this game wasn't nearly as good as I had hoped ;0p

So I gave this game a short try. None of the known Mac emulation or virtualisation will run this game, as far as I can see. The reason is that this game is looking for a ATI 9000 or similar GPU, which can not be emulated as of today.
As the game is made for OSX PPC it does run on Intel with Snow Leopard or lower via Rosetta emulation, as scott Praed already pointed out.
Setting up Snow Leo may look like a long shot, but many old Core2Duo Office PCs can run 10.6, given a low cost graphics card like the AMD HD 5450 is added.
If you want to go that way, look for Nawcoms Mod CD and the Snow Leopard retail DVD.
Setting up a Snow Leo Hackintosh is very easy that way on a Dell Optiplex 760/780 or similar Intel G45 driven boxes.

Sorry your computer can't run the game. This game is PPC only. This run in mac os x 10.2.8 to mac os x 10.6.8. This game will not run in Mac OS x 10.11.6. You tried the game on emulator or older mac.

i'm sorry to sound annoying but completely at a loss of what to do. i've downloaded the files listed on this page but not one has allowed me to install the application using the installer. i receive errors saying the file is damaged. i also don't know how to mount a .dmg in toast and do not have the toast application.

i have disk utility obviously and was able to create a cd/dvd copy of the 'nocd' file but without being able to install the application that copy did nothing when i tried to open it.

i don't know what i'm doing and wondered if anyone was patient enough to actually explain the process in more detail than a sentence or two..

I have a working NoCD for this game (at least in Tiger). Requires Toast. Will post later today.

so i have to be able to burn the 'rise of nations gold.toast' file to a disc in order to install the game ? my disc drive does not work. on a late 2009 macbook pro with upgraded ssd harddrive and ram, but the disc drive died long ago.

i had assumed from the comments that there was a workaround without having to physically burn a disc ?

do i need to be using an emulator to even install this correctly ? currently running osx 10.11.6

I believe you should be able to burn the Toast image to disc using Disk Utility.

is there absolutely no way to install and run this game without the 'toast' application? i cannot follow the directions listed and have limited knowledge with programming, etc.

Rise of Nations No CD is only no CD for game and mount the no CD in toast. 1st download is full game and 5th download is full game. The no CD will not install the game but use the 1st download or 5th download to install the game then mount the No CD to play without CD.

Hello. When I open the No CD file there are 3 files inside (Rise of Nations Gold Installer, Mount with Toast 6 and The Blade). When I click on Rise of nations gold installer it says the bill of materials for this package is was not found. Does anyone know how to resolve this? The installation for the game seemed to work fine, but it asks me for a CD so it does not work

I upload Rise of Nations Gold.dmg. This is everything. This include the whole game with updated 1.0.1 and no CD. Mounted with toast. Then copy the game to hard drive. Then burn the dmg to DVD or Mounted toast or use no CD. I tried mounted toast DVD then game said inserted the CD. The mounted with toasted will not play but when you put in no CD then game will play.

I upload Rise of Nations Gold No CD.dmg. But use toast mount the dmg. If don't use toast the game will not work. Tried burning the game to CD.

Thank you for uploading this one. Still one of my most favorite games. I remember playing it for hours when it came out. Anyone got a working no cd for this one? It seems to require a physical dvd inserted, mounting in Toast doesn't do it for me.
