Emulation
This game works with: SheepShaver, QEMU

"Prime Target is a first-person shooter that makes use of the Marathon 2 engine.

Cathryn Mayfield, who was your friend and an influential senator, has been murdered in her office and now the building is swarming with armed mercenaries. You must fight your way past them and obtain access keys for various parts of the building to uncover secret documents to solve the mystery and expose a conspiracy.

Prime Target adds many new features to the Marathon engine, including ducking, breaking glass, bullet-holes and blood splashes on doors and walls, many new kinds of access cards, swinging doors and most importantly, movable objects and non-linear play. The various levels represent different parts of a building and you may return to earlier levels in order to access previously unreachable areas." --MobyGames.com

The first download contains a .toast image, the audio tracks as stand-alone .mp3 files, and the documentation.

The second download contains a .bin/.cue image of the original CD. It can be burned using Toast to make a physical CD containing the game data and audio tracks for use on a real Mac.

The third download contains a disc image for use with the Virtual DVD-ROM/CD Utility so that the game can be played in SheepShaver or when the physical CD is not available. The audio files in the first download can be played in the host OS while playing the game in SheepShaver.

In addition to the manual PDF linked from the sidebar, a guide to optimizing performance can be downloaded:

For other games based on the Marathon 2 engine, see Marathon 2, Marathon Infinity, Damage Incorporated, and ZPC.

Odd... the Marathon 2 engine runs on 68k based Macs, yet this is for PPC Macs only? I wonder why.

Hi Durandall. It is great news that you have a bin-cue of this. I suggest that you put it somewhere I and others can download from. I will D/L it and make it available here. Others may choose to do the same via *their* preferred file sharing site

I still have the 7zipped bin/cue images of my CD that I put up at the forums a while back. Not sure how to put it up here though.

Can someone repost the toast file since the megaupload site is defunct?

Minimum91, whats the problem? No download, no decompression or no gaming?
For me, the Megaupload link seems to work. The file seems to be SitX, which might be problematic for some.

"Prime Target.toast.sit" Link does not work for me. Could somebody help me out, please?

Anyone have the full CD image? I would love to hear the soundtrack! And also would involve not having to patch the application with a CD crack every download.

Thanks.

It worked although I got an error telling me it "prevented the update from completing" Although ignore this it did it's job. Finally I can try out the weapon cheats and see what they have. Thanks I'm always updating my website and improving it, I want to have all the classic mac fps games featured on there, so this will add to the collection and the other bungie engine games on here as well.

Hello again, Very nice site you got there! I'm impressed at the screen shots and amount of information for each game. I own all those games and still play them.

Good times,
Thanks

Hey Eric, did you try the no-cd [k]? I have the exact same files mentioned, obviously. Hopefully when the upload limit has been increased someone could upload the cd-image. There should be 1 - 40 levels when the cheat command is pressed down when clicking new game.

Thanks allot for your website, gonna have a lookie. Wink

I also waited for years to play the full game! I went kind of insane for awhile there. Tongue

This is very strange! I have tried the demo version too but I deleated that before loading this version on my imac. It seems i'm cursed to never play the full version. I want to play it and get screenshots for my website http://www.fpsdungeon.com
The download I got contains; Read Me First, Prime Target, Data Model, Images, Shapes, Sounds, Map, Sounds,
and a Movie folder.

Very strange, its definitely not the demo version cause of the file size. Also I play the exact same version as this one right here. All levels unlocked on my one, haven't made any changes either.

ps. If someone else could please download this file and see weather its a demo or not?

Cheers.

This version appears to be the demo!!! what gives? I saw the nice intro cinematic and music then with the level code the only options were 1-3. When I tried to load the map file it loaded prime target and I noticed "demonstration version"!!!!

No bugs as far as I know. If you could upload the CD image version that'd be even better!

Thanks.

Is this the 1.2 version of the game? I've been told the older version has serious issues that cause crashes. I have a commercial CD of the game but I'm not sure which version it is since I don't have an older Mac to run it on (but will be getting an old Powerbook G3 this week).
