"No Greater Glory puts you in the shoes of Abraham Lincoln or Jefferson Davis during the American Civil War. You make the great strategic, political, and economic decisions that will determine the fate of the American people for centuries to come. You will lead the government, mobilize the armies, pick the generals, and guide their movements. The epic struggle will ebb and flow - from Northern Virginia to Southern Louisiana, from St. Louis to Jacksonville, Florida. In the end, victory will come because of your strategic skills, your economic management, and your political acumen. No Greater Glory is an all-embracing simulation of national leadership during one of America's greatest crises." --MobyGames.com

I really like this game, even though it requires excessive micro-management. Takes me almost half an hour just to get started (picking the scenario, form cabinet, etc.). If you're looking for a challenge, try playing as the South. I have never managed to win so far :-/

You're welcome. All I could get my hands on were the disks and a little code sheet someone had printed out, but there were manual and package scans for the DOS version on the web. People who like this game really love it apparently, though I wish the graphics had been re-done to take advantage of the Mac's higher resolution. A common complaint about DOS ports.

UPDATE: I found some more materials for this game, and added them to the archive.
