For their first game, erstwhile demoscene crew Realtech VR partnered with publisher Titus Interactive. Space Girl was to structure arcade-style 3D space combat into a series of Wing Commander-like missions. Demos were released in the 1990s for DOS, Windows, Mac OS, and even BeOS, but years passed without a CD-ROM.

In 2005, with Titus having filed for bankruptcy, the game was finally resurrected as open source freeware under the creators' originally preferred title, No Gravity. It has since migrated to many platforms, notably becoming the first "homebrew" PSP game to be promoted to the PlayStation Store.


When you see the message SECTOR CLEARED, it's time to press A for Autopilot and warp to the next phase of your assignment. For the autopilot to work, you'll need to be close to the sector's nav beacon (a white dot on your radar). When you achieve all objectives on a mission, fly into the warp point (field of sparkles) to finish the level.


The Space Girl demo releases for Mac OS 7–9 require quite a few caveats:

The finished OS X version is somewhat more polished, even if the name entry box now ignores the letter A 95% of the time. Sometimes overlay graphics will appear as white boxes, or text as garbled emoji-like icons, but these issues should go away with a simple quit and relaunch.

Finally, an HD reboot was published in the Mac App Store in 2011, with an update for Apple Silicon in 2020, but judging by the user reviews it may be the buggiest version of all.

Architecture: PPC x86 (Intel:Mac)

Download #1 is version 2.00, released in 2006 for OS X PPC/Intel. OS X 10.2.8 to 10.3.9 users should "be sure to have OpenAL installed in /System/Library/Framework." In 10.4, OpenAL comes pre-installed.

Downloads #2 and #3 are demos released in 1998 for Mac OS Classic. They are largely identical, since they share the same game data file.

OSX version (2005-2006) seems to be very very unfinished, many cool graphics effects to see, otherwise lots of loose ends unimplemented and unpolished stuff, little actual (working) gameplay. The "HD Reboot" looks like the real thing, costs $4 and has been continuously updated.
