A great, very detailed XOR Corporation football game. One of the best around. You can even change the stats and rosters, not to mention physics of the game. There are a couple of money plays both offensively and defensively, 4-2 on offense and 1-4, 1-6 on defense but other than these plays it is a very good football simulation.

The combined disk image "NFL Challenge" contains version 1.03 of the program with the files from the 1988 Team Disk.

The separate disk images, "NFLC Program Disk 1.02" and "NFLC 1985 Team Disk" are an earlier version of the program, and the team disk from that year.

Finally, there are the 1987 team/roster disks.

The 1984, 1986, Pre-Season 1989, Greatest, and All-Star team disks still remain to be found.

This was the best NFL game for a long time. Playmaker Football came after it, was more detailed, cost nearly twice as much but wasn't a fraction of the excitement of NFL Challenge.

As I remember, the stats that came with the game heavily favoured Chicago and NY Giants - who were the best team at the time - which didn't upset me too much, but my Dallas Cowboys and LA Raiders (my two fav teams) could never beat the Redskins or the 49's (respectively). Be prepared to find some stats for the seasons that your team was at the top.
