This is a computerized version of "Black Box," a CAT scan inspired board game created by Eric Colomon in the 1970s. Players shoot a ray into the edge of a black box in order to deduce the location of atoms hidden within. Its simplicity does not diminish its playability.
This particular program owes some of its graphic appeal to the 1978 American release of Parker Brothers' version of the board game. It's unfortunate that a color version of this computer game has not turned up, as the board game was an aesthetic slice of 1970s design.
The 3rd download is a colour version, dated 1991.

I uploaded a new .dsk image with two versions of the game I found in my archives. Gameplay seems buggy in my Mac Plus emulator (opens but quit command doesn't work), better but still a bit buggy in the 512K emulator (quit command works, then the system crashes)... I didn't test it thoroughly though.
Can't find Mystery Box in the external Download (as long as it's games6.zip file), plus you need to stuff the Mystery_Box.img with Stuffit before uploading, please.
Comes with an unexpected file ending when try to mount it.
