Yes I fixed in later edit, sorry about that! Yes it is Intel Mac-only free version.

@IIGS_User That one works for me, too.

(Seems like that one is Intel Mac only, though.)

The link given in the comments below works for me.

@Ronzo, that link isn't working for me. I get the error "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN". In your original edit you said it is a "modern and free" version of this game, but is it Mac-OS compatible at all?

The original Lode Runner and Lemmings are probably the two best games ever made. We used to play Lode Runner on the school's Apple II computers. This newer version is okay, but has some silly, pretty impossible levels.

I loved playing this as a kid!
When looking for a Mac version I also stumbled upon a fan made game that plays identically.
http://www.quarkrobot.com/ works on Mac too.

This is a stellar game. I remember playing it to death on my LC III back in the mid-nineties -- what a blast! Loved the level editor. I don't know if I ever solved every level as I remember the ones toward the end getting very hectic. It'll be fun to relive the adventure.
