This game works with: SheepShaver, Basilisk II,

From Ambrosia Software's promotional text:

It's 2246, and the galaxy just isn't what it used to be. Spacefaring pirates roam free, civil war rages, and simple traders cheat death to make a living. Welcome to life in the 23rd century!

Escape Velocity offers a rich and open-ended environment that evolves as you play. Over a hundred worlds occupy the galaxy, each with its own technology, alliances, and commodities. As you earn credits and gain fame, Confederation peace keepers and Rebel patriots struggle for power, leaving you in the middle.

Escape Velocity was one of Ambrosia Software's early hits. Its success helped earn the company a name as a major Mac game publisher and contributed to a following of loyal Ambrosia customers.

In EV, the player pilots a starship, going from system to system completing missions, performing trades, or engaging in space battles. The galaxy is populated by numerous AI ships and planets, each with their own attributes and outfits. There are two major plot lines in EV: the Confederacy or the Rebellion.

Though the original game was relatively small, its flexible plug-in architecture allowed fans to create all kinds of different scenarios. The rich ecosystem of EV plug-ins is perhaps the main reason it remained such a popular game, with Ambrosia eventually releasing two more games in the Escape Velocity series.

Glad it works - enjoy and have fun! In case someone else wonders - just put the "extension" Star Wars into the Plug-In directory of your EV installation. Start EV + a new game and you should be greeted by a Star Wars title immediately Smile

NVM! I think the icon is the plugin lol ok I will give that a shot. EDIT It's working!! Awesome thanks so much for doing that! Got me giddy with all the blaster bolts and landing on Tatooine.

It's extracting successfully now! Thanks for doing this, however there is SWFix folder for a few ships that occasionally glitch, but only the Star Wars icon otherwise, which seems to open the regular game. I don't think the plug in files themselves are in this folder, just the 5 ships in the SWFix folder if I'm correct! So the plugin files are missing in the archive for all the Star Wars stuff!

Obviously yes. I thought I had it compressed using Classic on Tiger and StuffIt 3.5.2 but apparently no. Now I've just reuploaded it along with what EV stuff I had - all compressed on my 8600 using StuffIt 3.5.2. Unpacks fine now. Please try again!

Odd, it doesn't for me. I was using StuffIt Expander v8 on Snow Leopard at the time. No corrupt warning and the content appears fine.

Ha, I just tried it with Expander 5.5 on System 7.6 and yep, it gives the corrupted message. Was a later version of StuffIt used in the construction?

No, Jballs is actually right. I've checked my upload on my 8600 and it does indeed bring up the corrupt alert on System 7. I did not test this one before uploading (mea culpa!) but I'll repackage and reupload it when i get off work.

Interestingly though, above installer doesn't work on my 8600 either. Can anyone confirm this?

When I try to un-sit the star wars mod it says the archive is corrupt

It downloads and extracts fine for me. Something else must be going wrong at your end.

Hey man! Guest booked you but I'm going to repost here, double chances of being seen: When I try to un-sit the star wars mod it says the archive is corrupt, any way you could fix and reupload? Thanks so much! Super excited Laughing out loud

Just uploaded the Star Wars mod for EV. It's v. 2.0.1 - please feel free to upload / replace it with a later version, if one was ever made.

I have only one thing to say about EV.

"They TRIIIIED to kill me with a forklift!"

And for anyone who doesn't know EV yet, well, just one of the best games ever. Well, be sure of one thing, at least: it's addictive. If you get into it, it's extremely hard to put it down, but damn, is it entertaining.

For anyone playing this, be careful not to do Confed. or Rebel missions unless you are ready to have your character permanently commit to either side. (Each side gives you a different unique item at the end of the final quest.) This is something that, to my knowledge, cannot be undone, so back up your character before you do (or cheat with ResEdit etc.). I don't think buying a Fake ID item at that one pirate planet did the trick, either.
