This game works with: SheepShaver, Basilisk II, Mini vMac

"During the game there is a small ball constantly bouncing up and down on the screen, similar to Breakout. However, unlike the paddle in Breakout, the player can directly control the left and right motion of the ball using the arrow keys on the keyboard. In fact, this is the only control the player has over the game.

To complete a level, all blocks with diamond symbols must be cleared away by bouncing the ball against them. However, before the diamond blocks can be destroyed, all solid color blocks must be removed by bouncing the ball off each block while the ball matches the color of the particular block. Among the various types of blocks are 'brush' blocks, which alter the color of the bouncing ball when it makes contact with them, and skull blocks which cost the player one life." --Wikipedia.org

I just added an archive (3rd download) containing 24 user made Diamonds levels from back in the day. Also included is the Level Mover, which allows to import, export and delete levels from your Diamonds installation. Enjoy everyone Smile

(my first comment on this page was almost 10 years ago - I still boot it up from time to time. It's a true Mac gaming classic!)

I know you can try the calculator version and play any level.

You can also play on your phone (iOS version will be out soon):

Has anyone ever made any levels in diamonds that can be shared?

Is anyone able to take a screenshot of the game displaying every block placed on one screen through the editor? Diamonds is one of my childhood memories (especially the "For Kids" version released on Windows), and I've been wanting to see what all the block graphics look like in the monochrome version, since the current screenshot only displays a select few of the blocks, and I've had a lot of trouble getting the monochrome version to run through emulator.

Very good game, gets difficult fast. I would like to note that only the newer version 2.0.4 works on older B&W macs, or at least was the case with my SE.

I found Diamonds 1.52 and uploaded it here. As theb0rg reported, it is too fast under Basilisk II and SheepShaver. It is playable in the Fusion emulator running in DosBOX, but usually runs a little too slowly.

I too have been looking for that version.. Any way you could upload it?

If 1.52 is very different, please add, but not replace.

I would try emulating it in Fusion under DOSBox. Some games that work too fast in Basilisk II or SheepShaver work fine in Fusion. Check out the guide here: http://www.emaculation.com/doku.php/fusion_setup_guide. Could you upload Diamonds 1.52 here? I've been looking for the version with slightly different graphics and music - it sounds like it might be that version.

I have Diamonds 1.52 ( Probably an older version, but better music etc.. ). It goes to fast in 7.5.3 though using basilisk or sheepsaver with all current roms. Any idea on how to make it slower ?

Too bad, cuz, I started my page in the Old Geocities, and I still have a few personal pages there
that I maintain up to date.
and I am really lazy to transfer all to a new server,
I remember when Geocities was divided in neighbors and you clicked in the liitle house icons
it was really entertaining just checking out what other amateurs and students were doing...
until yahoo came, bought it out and screw it all up.

There was something in the news months ago about Yahoo phasing them out unless the page owners upgraded to paying fees, and I have an old free page myself, but I've never received word from Yahoo about it, so who knows. I'm surprised they've survived this long, after Yahoo destroyed everything that was good about the old GeoCities. They paid billions for it and tossed it out in the trash!! Wikipedia has this to say: "In June 2009, Yahoo announced that it will close GeoCities on October 26, 2009."

though it's a GeoCities page so it won't be long before it disappears.

Then I'd better start the archiving tool now!!! I already have a list of 143 Geocities sites that are to be archived.

It wasn't that long ago. This is one of the few pages remaining devoted to Glider, though it's a GeoCities page so it won't be long before it disappears. Just a few years ago you could still find a dozen such pages.

Diamonds, SimCity (original) and Glider are all pretty much pre-web (as we know it today), so if they exist they would be on something like info-mac.

I wish I could find user-made levels somewhere too! Most of that sort of thing vanished from the web a long time ago. I don't know if there ever were many things posted for Diamonds, but there were certainly a lot of things for Glider and SimCity posted by users.

I remember playing this game on an LC II back in 1993. We kids would gather in front of the monitor and try to figure out how to solve the various levels. Thank you for uploading this game Attila! When hearing the sound I felt again like a 13-year old boy. Sweet memories Smile

(anyone knows where to get other user made levels? The game came with an handy editor...)

I've uploaded what I believe are the last versions of Diamonds and More Diamonds together here, and in a disk image format.
