I got the "Desktop File couldn't be created" err msg in the past, too:
MacGarden/search/The Desktop File couldn't be created

This is a System 6 err msg, while it doesn't appear to be shown in later Mac OS versions...

Maybe try to find redunant robot for some kind of tutorial.

Here's what I'm getting:

Note: I'm on System 6, and I don't think Disc Copy will work for that.
I followed this tutorial getting vMac set up:
http://emaculation.com/doku.php/mini_vmac_setup

If I need Mac OS 7, where do I go about getting those install discs / roms or whatever? Do you have a link to a tutorial?

Thanks

Try the new Disk Copy 4.2 image (stuffed with StuffIt 4) again. Once unstuffed, simply drag & drop it onto the Mini vMac window. If you unstuff the file within Mini vMac, just do a double-click to get it mounted (requires Disk Copy 6.x to be installed within Mini vMac).
For me, when I try to run this in Mini vMac with Mac OS 7, the emulated Mac answers "Trap not implemented".

So... I downloaded this game (ds.sit), and copied it to my mini vMac disc image with HFVExplorer. Then inside the emulator, I used StuffIT expander, but it doesn't "see" the file when I try to open it on the hard disk root. I then tried expanding it on windows, which gave me the two necessary files. I copied those over to the mac with HFVExplorer, but when I click them it says "The program is busy or missing" (paraphrased)

How do I run this?

I discovered a Flash version of a game very similar to this (with more features) you may want to check out.

Great news - I somehow managed to recover the files from the train wreck of a CD-ROM. I now need to see if DiskDoubler will expand them. If all is well, I will upload the app tonight/tomorrow.

always BUMPing!

It took me 10 years to find another copy of MindThump, I don't want to wait another 10 years to see this game again. :-/

Please oh please, if someone can search through their backups, and replace this game... I will be yours forever. It is tiny (<70Kb including data). Remember, you need the app, and the DSrooms file for this to work. In the description, it mentions a "green blob" which is actually a WALL of green that follows you, I like to think of it as radiation, it makes more sense than a BLOB!
