Comments
crystal Cailburn pinball 1.0.4 update will make the game work in mac os 9.1 and 9.2.2.
I have the disk but lost the code and found it by searching for Crystal Caliburn v 1.02 code and was able to play finally!
Of course, the new 1.2MB download link is the original floppy disk image. Can't remember if it needs a serial If it does I'll find mine and post it.
I thought I uploaded the CD media here originally? I dont know what happened.. The floppy disk version would be a good addition like you said.
I don't see your name in the Revisions list, bertyboy. Was there another upload of the same game elsewhere (since removed as a double-up)? - I have the original media on a bundled CD but I think a floppy disk set would be a good addition also.
what happened to the links for the original version ? I uploaded images of the original floppy disk media, don't tell me they're "bundled" into the 62MB download on MU.
By the way the registration code to play this game was written on a folder.
Does anyone want to post high scores on this page? I've got a high score (so far) of 60,520,830.
Multi-battle is NUTS on this game!
- No v1.03 download available from LW
- No v1.03 documentation available from LW
- No mention of purchase of v1.03 on LW site
- No mention of anything relating to v1.03 on LW site
- v1.03 does not work with OS 8
- v1.03 only works on obsolete Macs or emulators (and with latency, it's not that great on emulators)
- v1.03 is now 17 years old
- v1.03 was distributed in a bundle along with two other games by StarPlay Productions, called "Games of Fame" (the other two games in the bundle were F/A-18 Hornet Classic by Graphic Simulations Corporation (1993) and Pathways into Darkness by Bungie (1993)). Significantly, this bundle was sold in 1995, two years *after* the release of CC v1.03 and sales for that version of CC had presumably begun to decline.
If it walks like a duck...
I believe Littlewing are still selling and supporting this (and their other pinball games) on OS X.
Therefore, this may still amount to piracy (I love this game tho).
Thank you Mike Garden. Now I can sleep easy tonight...
IIGS_User asked:
Looking at the copy I own from a Mac bundled software collection of the mid '90's, it is version 1.03 not version 1.0.3 (picky, picky, picky)
Reason for us to hold it, I believe.
llGS, as far as I know, CC has not changed from v1x through v3x except for being upgraded to play on newer systems. I've played the demo v3.0.1 (OSX Classic) and it appeared to be exactly the same as the 17 year old v1.0.3 (which will NOT play in Classic but will play using Basilisk ll). Therefore, my opinion of this game remains the same for all three major versions.
Are you talking about version 1.0.3 or 3.0.1?
This is the best pinball game of all time in my opinion. Highly addictive, great sound effects, awesome graphics, and the ball movement is about as realistic as you can possible have.
Version 1.0.3 runs in Basilisk, game sets itself to 8 bit color. v1 is the same as v3 as far as I can tell. I'll try to upload v1.x (1995) soon.
