Chinese chess (aka Xiangqi) is a strategy board game for two players. It is played on a board nine lines wide by ten lines long with 16 pieces placed on the intersections for each player. These pieces could be somewhat hard to acknowledge for the untrained Western eyes because they are identified only by Chinese characters.
