Welcome to Rapture. A city where opportunity awaits those brave enough to grasp it. A city where the artist need not fear the censor. Where the scientist is not bound by petty morality. Where the great are not held back by the weak… BioShock - one of the greatest games of all time - is now on the Mac.
Set in an alternate 1960, BioShock places you in the middle of an underwater utopia gone badly wrong. With a provocative and intelligent storyline, this is a game that is alternately beautiful, thrilling, funny and frightening and always very involving. An experience that makes you think while you play.
Key features:
- BioShock has won numerous game of the year awards and is the third highest-rated PC game ever.
- Combines a clever blend of genres with a first person shooter and elements of role-playing and stealth.
- Superb visual style - An art deco world with advanced visual effects combine to create a creepily immersive environment in which players can lose themselves.
- Many more features. [Apple]

Comments
Definitely in the "horror" genre but no one used that word in description. I thought I was going to hate this, after allowing its 'attract mode' to play for hours while I was busy, and then trying the opening scene on the firey surface of the ocean. Third highest rated computer game ever, when was that vote held?? But once you get going inside the city, the appeal starts to show through. Multiple simultaneous gpu worldbending everywhere. Like an extension of the game "Prey" that my PowerPC has.
Files here worked for me, obviously. I dLed segments (because my file xfer system atm doesn't handle more than 4GB), I put in the 1.0.1 update, then the 1.0.1 k - the largest (has no SafeDisc thingy) gamefiles I've ever run at home. On my 2008 c2d 2.4GHz 2GB mem ATi x2600 and Leopard 10.5.8
The disc image here is not a pristine copy of the DVD as it has the 1.0 NoDVD included on it. It would be good to have a perfect copy here also for historical reasons.
EDIT: Pristine copy is now on this page thanks to fogWraith
I might upload the full game image later as I have the files.
