The website claims it requires Snow Leopard. However, have you tried looking at the binary for Fontographer 5.2.4?

It has a valid 32 bit PowerPC slice. I can confirm that it works on Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard on PowerPC. Might even run under Tiger, too.

Wow, you're right. I just gave it a try, both 5.2.4 full and 5.2.3 demo, and they both open even in PPC Tiger. Since I have no registration code, I gave only the demo a proper try. It seems the software is functional, but File > New triggered a crash. Doing the same on PPC 10.5 Leopard worked just fine without any crash, though, which is good.

Maybe the reason they list Snow Leopard+ for compatibility is that they don't test as much against Tiger/Leo PPC, and thus would rather only want to provide support for those on Intel machines, but also compile the app as Universal to keep things accessible on PPC for those that want to give it a shot?

Nonetheless, interesting!

This might work, seems to be a copy of 4.7.3 over here.

Thanks very much for this link, Duality. It looks good.

When in Tiger, getting info on the app, it gives a choice of launching it in Classic, so it must be a Carbon app. However the user manual, which I DL'd elsewhere, states that it is for 10.3 or later, only.

I'll do some further testing (re: Classic) and will make a page for it here shortly.

Thanks again.

seems to be a copy of 4.7.3 over here.

And I've uploaded and added it to our archives, here.

It's an odd app, in that it resembles a classic Mac app rather than a Mac OS X app. It doesn't have a typical OS X package wrapper, it's a self contained carbon app that has all of the classic resources that you expect to find in a classic Mac app. Throw it onto ResEdit in classic and you'll see what I mean.

I tried running it on OS 9.x and Fontographer's splash screen appeared, then an alert popped up, telling me it required Mac OS X, and the program gracefully quit after I clicked OK. - I'd love to know what resource triggered that response, and then ResEdit it, to see if I could get any further in 9 Wink

Anyway. It's a great little carbon app for PPC OS X and works well in 10.4.x. Thanks for finding it.

I would like to have the i3 DSP Quatro X (full version) for mac os 9 or mac osX powerpc, is an editor with VST hosting VST instruments that allows you to sample and capture audio internally and externally

It would be great to have available in macintosh garden.

Anyone happen to have Highway 61, an Edutainment title about Bob Dylan's works that he/she could kindly upload here?

I've made a few pages for software that hasn't been preserved yet (making note to please upload it if someone has it). Should I just put things in the request forum instead of doing that?

RoboFog, a version of Fontographer 3.5 with a built in Python (1.x) interpreter to automate font editing.

Some examples of what this programming looked like are in the documentation for RoboFog's successor project, "FontParts", with brief history.

I just found out Digieffects went under and would love to have their After Effects Plugins. I wrote the last distributer who said they wouldn't be of help to purchase since they are out of business. Does anybody have these? (Delierium, aura, damage etc..CS3,4,5 or beyond).)

I'm searching for the full commercial version of MacBreadboard 1.2, from YOERIC Corporation which disappeared. Finding their other 2 programs, Virtual Vulcan (if there was a Mac version) and Pinochle 3.0, would be sort of nice, too.

Would anyone still happen to have any of these? I only found 1.1 demos out there at best. Sad

This would be a very useful program to have...

Edit: It isn't the latest, but a full v1.1 (v1.13) is found on Mac GUI and MyOldMac.net. Everywhere else, including the web archive of the now-defunct website, seems to contain a demo of v1.1 (v1.15). No sign of version 1.2, which is mentioned in the defunct order page.

I've added a page for Pinochle 3.0 with the program from a Macformat cover CD, but don't know much about it.

I added the CodeWizard 1.0 (aka CodePerfect) folder from a Macformat cover CD to your page.

The others programs and versions aren't on any of the Macformat cover CDs according to their DiskTracker database.

CodePerfect 2.3, shareware. Previously known as CodeWizard. Seems useful in particular for consulting Mac OS Error Codes on the fly. It most likely is contained in multiple shareware CDs out there. I already found a v2.1 serial for it, which may or may not work with 2.3.

Best I could find was version 2.0 only. EDIT: Except version 2.0 got truncated and is thus corrupted, so not even that...

I have found good copies of 2.0 and 2.1. If you want them I can upload them to a page with Title only. I would leave it for you to finish the page since you have a particular interest in this one.

Incidentally, for anyone interested out there, I discovered a great source of information (descriptions and old website URLs) for a huge collection of old Mac OS programs, which can be EXTREMELY helpful for digging via archive.org and for understanding what some of those programs do. The only catch is that it is fully in Italian, but nothing cryptic.

Here is it.

New request: Mac-OS-9-compatible ExaChess, whatever the latest version is. ExaChess Lite is freeware, but I didn't see a "Classic" version anywhere on the site, and the latest backup Wayback Machine got is 2.1 Lite. I don't know if the regular AKA "Pro" version of it is still at all sold for Mac OS 9, but even finding the latest Lite counterpart for it would already be great.

Turns out the DMG described as "for OS X versions earlier than 10.3.9" is also Mac OS 9 compatible, and apparently the latest Mac OS 9 version. Not only are Mac OS X ZIPs a huge headache and nuisance, but so are DMGs that Disk Copy 6.5b13 can't mount (which is the vast majority of them) that contain OS 9 software. Damn. Disk Copy's eternally-spinning dogcow will one day have its revenge! Wink

And I believe both versions (3.x & 4.x) are still for sale, so I'll make a page for the freeware Lite version. (If the Pro AKA full version ever gets abandoned, it could also then be put on the same page.)

Flash Player 10, is it more than ten years old yet? Got a "standalone" player for it?

It's not quite 10 years old (still just over two months to go), but you can still download old versions of Flash Player directly from Adobe's Archived Flash Player versions page. It's just not very well organised - there's a table telling which version is the newest to work on various operating systems, then further down is a long list of download links. The easiest way is to use your web browser's Find function to find the version number from the operating systems table. They're all pretty big files because they stupidly contain the plug-in and standalone player versions for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Solaris, as well as debug versions for developers.

Adobe is discontinuing Flash at the end of 2020, so all the versions will be "obsolete" then anyway.

I am looking for a copy of LaundroMac from The Excelsior's Group, release date approx. 1996. Their website used to be http://members.aol.com/ExcelsiorG but archive.org's first record is an error page from 1999. I've tried looking for it at the info mac archive CDs from 1997 and the AMUG shareware DVD from 2000 but to no avail.

Anyone happen to have this one?

Old trailers - created with MacroMind, videoworks and others self running presentation software. These would be trailers that ran in the Mac stores or tradeshows on Mac 512, +, SE , Mac Portable and Mac II machines. This could include Aldus pagemaker, freehand, adobe illustrator etc.
I use to grab as many as I could but those floppies went bad or were repurposed. I remember an outbound HyperCard stack which I grabbed from the Outbound Mac folks at an AMUG meeting in Phoenix AZ. It showed clipart running at high speed on the 16mhz outbound laptops. Sadly that presentation went by the wayside.

ShotPut Pro, I haven't been able to find or download this anywhere else. It's an app for ingesting media from solid-state devices (P2, CF Cards, etc), similar to Final Cut's Log and Capture/Transfer feature.

I looked for Virtue Desktops (an old-school virtual desktop manager for OS X) but it wasn't on here, so I found it and uploaded it myself. Hopefully some of you can get some use out of it.

Hello fellow gardeners Smile,

I am trying to preserve as much localized software in Italian (my mothertongue) as possible, especially very old titles pre-system 7:

you will see I have already uploaded something which was longtime lost, like Mac write, Mac draw, Hypercard etc.

I am now trying to find Italian versions of Mac paint (I had it on a scsi disk that crashed before having the chance for a backup...) and of the 4 disks of Appleshare 2.01, to have a proper network setup - and whatever else you may have Smile

thanks in advance!

Nice. If there is already an entry for one of the titles, please add your files to them (instead of creating new entries).

Hello, there. I've been wondering if there's any way somebody could upload Adobe Flash CS3. I'm an ameture animator. I used flash 8 on a Snow Leopard machine, and I got a more modern computer running 10.8, and I can't run flash 8 on there (it's powerpc only for some reason). Is there any chance someone could upload Flash CS3?

For what it's worth, you might have better luck finding a working Flash CS4.

Everything under the CS3 umbrella is challenging to get working now, since Adobe shut down its activation servers.

Unless someone happens to have had a copy of Flash CS3 that doesn't require server-side activation, which Adobe used to provide as a download for a very short time, finding a working copy will be difficult. No boxed copy will work in 2020.

Ok. Flash CS4 can apparently save down to CS3, and I really like that. Can someone at least upload a copy of Flash CS4?

*Any* app for creative writers (no kids version) for 68k would be very much welcomed. Thus far I found fewer than half a dozen of those and only three of them are truly usefull.
