* Same Game. Puzzle game from the early 90s. We have it listed, but the link doesn't work.

Someone put a working link near "D/L:" at the page, works at least at my end. Wink

I would like to see Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel on here (floppy disk version). I lost most of the disks, which is the reason I'm asking.

For completeness, I would like to see Spin Doctor Challenger uploaded. I believe it was just a 10 level demo, but I played it a LOT.

Adrenaline Charts Pro. I remember reading reviews of this supposedly great charting software around 2000. It has utterly vanished. Looks like 1.5.1 is the final version. PowerPC. More info:

Would be so indebted if someone uploaded it!

ClarisDraw for Windows, either the hybrid Mac/Windows CD, or floppy disk images for Windows.

I know, its a Windows program. I would like it to complete my ClarisDraw set for both Mac & Windows. The Win version is the hardest one to track down & I've only come across the demo for it on-line.

The only thing I found on the internet is the French ClarisDraw 1.0Fv2 for Windows. What do you think?

Upload it please, Fortuna. I'm interested in English language titles specifically. But I do support all language versions being archived. Thank you for looking.

World Book and Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia. WB came with my iMac in the software packet that also included the system restore CD, Williams-Sonoma, Kai's Photo Soap, Adobe PageMill, and Quicken, which I've lost. I think my parents must have bought Compton's, or else it came free with a Carmen Sandiego CD or something.

Also, the Dynamic Graphics magazine "charter subscriber CD." I still have a copy, so I'll upload a rip if no one else has it (which is the likely situation), but it's badly scratched (beyond repair), so although the clip art is still accessible, the Director program that includes a couple of games to learn about filters in Illustrator and Photoshop doesn't run.

Older versions of DiskTop?

I can only find version 1.2, that's at the umich.edu Mac archives. Version 2.0 and 3.0 are apparently gone in the wild.

I'd love to see a copy of Now Fun! by Now software. It's just a fun little app that lets you customize some things.

It's very rare, and I've looked quite a bit. Would love it if someone uploaded it.

I'm looking for a decent matte plugin for Adobe After Effects. 3 come to mind:
1) primatte
2) zmatte
3) dvmatte

I have looked around quite a bit but have come up dry on working copies of any of them.

Do you have one of these (or something else you would recommend)?

Gary

"Apple Technical Information Source" CD's, 1991 to 199*?

There is one copy of the Technical I.S. CD vers. 1.0, 1990 here at the MG

There were later releases of the Technical I.S. CD's and I would like to see them archived here.
I've only seen one mentioned (not located) in my searches so far: "Apple, Technical Information Source, Version 3.0. (1992)". I assume there was at least a version 2.0 (1991) release, too.

[Edit] Have also seen mentioned a version 2.1 (1991) but no hard copy so far and discovered I have a copy of this in amongst my own archives. I've added it to the Apple I.S. CD page.

Still looking for version 3.0 & others. - Anyone?

I downloaded AppleWorks 6 (have an iBook G4 with 10.4). Was wondering--any way I can get iWork '09? Technically, it should be abandonware since Apple doesn't support PPC any longer, right?

I don't know about its "ware" status, but the trial version of this was easily adapted to become a full working copy that doesn't expire.

If you search for iWork09Trial.dmg you'll find several examples of how this was achieved and also possible links to DL this trial still. It weighs in at around 451 MBs for the .dmg

I am using a real Macintosh Quadra 700. I have had some success downloading and using games from this site. For the life of me I cannot determine which utility is required to open or mount .DSK files.

So far, I have been downloading the files to a modern Power Mac, burning the .sit, .hqx, .bin. sea. or zip files to CD, reading the CD using the Quadra, copying the files to a large hard drive and decompressing/unarchiving them. It is at this point I am confronted with .dsk files. Disk Copy, DropDisk, and ShrinkWrap don't work for me.

Any help or advise would be appreciated.

For the life of me I cannot determine which utility is required to open or mount .DSK files.

Its possibly a DiskDup+ file. I say possibly because some archivists tack on ".dsk" to file names that they intend for use in Mini vMac as drag and mount type archives regardless of what application created the archive.

If the .dsk in question has also lost its Creator & File types (usually denoted by a generic blank icon) then you'll need to restore those before DiskCopy 6 and even DiskDup+ itself can mount them.

Use Creator Changer and change the Creator Type to DDp+ and the File Type to DDim (case is sensitive).

Do this and the files will be recognizable by DiskDup+ and DiskCopy 6 now. Then, if they actually mount, fine. If not, probably your only option is to use the emulator Mini vMac and try mounting it in that, then transfer the files you need in a format that you can use in your Q700.

I once had a Happy Mac Startup Icon on my Jaguar partition. I worked fine. Unfortunately, I do not have it any more but would like to install it again. It was freeware. I do not even know the name of the device. Does anyone know the name and where to find it? Or does anyone even have it? This would be very much appreciated.

Have you guys considered uploading TCP Blocker: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/35914/tcpblock
It's officially abandonware now as the developer claims to "no longer have enough free time to continue developing". More info here: https://web.archive.org/web/20141219225134/http://tcpblock.wordpress.com/

How about the older PPC compatible versions of CocoaNu, MacRuby & ActiveTCL as well?
The full Xcode 3.1.4 (and it's accessories, such as FXPlug) would also be nice too. What do you think Mike?

I second these requests, as well. (PPC-compatible versions of CocoaNu, MacRuby and ActiveTCL.)

Finding the "starkit" version of SQLite 3.4.1 would also be pretty cool. (Which appears to be the latest compiled binary of SQLite for PPC Macs, via TCL.)

Some old programming tools:

1) VIP-Basic
2) VIP-C
3) Oracle Power Objects
4) Roaster Java Environment for Mac

VIP C was uploaded to a file-sharing site some time ago but has since disappeared. I've found demos of VIP C and VIP Basic on wayback (https://web.archive.org/web/19981201200251/http://www.mstay.com/download...), but no full versions yet.

Well, since the question was asked, I would like to see the only two Mac-based court reporting programs on here. One was called, "MacCat," and the other was called, "MacTranscribe."

I am a court reporting student, and there is no Mac-based professional court reporting software anymore. I heard somebody complain that one of the two wasn't very well designed, but I'd still like to see for myself.

Here's a couple of print ads for both programs from a few years back:

http://cheapandsleazy.net/images/mactranscribe.png

Probably a long shot, but as one of my court reporting friends has been known to say, "Dem that don't ask, don't get!"
