What is this?

I spotted a 2TB external drive for under $65, but is it real/what I think it is? (an external nand flash SSD drive) or is it a fake product? Shock

If it's real, it looks like an amazing option for my G4 Minis as internal drives! (although I may be able to do much more with them externally, tbh) but it's the price that has me scratching my head; and the few reviews they have are all very, very new and all of the are by Amazon customers only posted one to two, all strangely very similar.

I guess it's a ruse to sell some fake drives to unsuspecting buyers (like me) Sad

update: so I did a little extra digging and the found some real reviews from a more or less identical product from the same seller w/the same specs, just 1TB for the same price. The real customers say the USB-C to USB-A cable it comes with is the only one that works w/the drive and that the transfer rate is around 11mb/s, although one customer did say they believe it's a real 1TB drive, but only good for maybe small pictures and documents due to its slowness. Then I came across similar products w/1-star reviews, so it looks like this is one of many fake mini external drives.

That probably has no cache at all. Might be dead slow.

Yes, I'll definitely steer clear of these; they make these products so tempting! Sad

2TB for $64? That is what you pay for mechanical hard drives. This is faker than fake.

P.S. While not m.2 style, this is getting great ratings for the money:

Thanks for sharing! That was a very interesting video Smile it shows using an outfit's ingenuity w/cheap chips to make something that's not half-bad. The biggest problem w/the reviewed product on the video is not so much one of performance, but potentially of the SSD's build-quality.
