dude, all you have to do is enter the text shown in the captcha image. It comes up because spammers post links and stuff, and that's the only sure-fire way to be sure it's not a spammer. Coding something more advanced would be pretty difficult and/or a waste of time for a site that's just someone's hobby. Don't like the spam-filtering? Developer a better filtering plugin for Drupal and let us know..... Smile

There is no problem posting and using the captcha. It is after you post and spot a typo that you need to correct immediately after posting.

You then start getting the "spam detection errors" and I have to say it is nothing short of a PITA. Try correcting your post after sending one successfully and see for yourself.

agreed, this is a pain - happened to me already (with no captcha in sight!)

exactly! the problem is not that there is a capita, but that there are no capita in site!

But... as with many things around here... if you wait some time then go back to it later, it all gets automagikally unbroken and begins to work... kind of Wink

There seems to be some difficulty communicating here, judging by some comments.
There is no problem with the captchas. They show up and work fine for everyone.

The issue occurs when you either edit your post right after posting it in the first place, or make a new post too close to the previous. When that happens, there is no captcha, but instead there is a message saying you have triggered the spamfilter. Reloading the page does not produce a captcha, only the same message again.
All you can do is wait a while, before trying again.

It has nothing to do with browsers, java, or settings, or anything else the user can control.
It is how this forum is set up.

So those who encounters this: just relax, and wait a few minutes.
To everyone else: don't assume that the people who do encounter this error doesn't know how to use captchas, or doesn't like them. Understand that this message can be frustrating when it happens the first time, and you don't yet know that it will resolve itself shortly.

i see..
but then another problem arises...

what if you accidentally typed something offensive and you want to change it NOW before the other reader sees it? now you dont have time!!!

thats why i asked: "WHO MADE THIS SYSTEM!?"

a lot of times you are tying to change the error in your post before anyone sees it... so waiting is not a valid solution now is it?

How about thinking before typing?

Another tip I often use myself, is to make notes in a textdocument before posting. Then it is easy to edit, and just copy&paste it into the forum when you've made sure it actually says what you want it to say.

"WHO MADE THIS SYSTEM!"

What do you think you would do if you knew? And how would it help? Just be patient. People put this stuff together by sacrificing their free time; they're not slaves.

cough... cough...
i run a forum too...
and to me running a forum doesn't mean slave work... it is either by personal interest or work related...

aka they are either paid or because they want to. (obviously because they want to here)

but the reason i asked who runs this system is because then i could give some constructive suggestions..

what else would i do???

thought currently i dont even know who the admin is...
anyone have any idea?

I wasn't asked for a CaPtChA when posting a reply today. Has this been dropped for the sake of sanity? Please say it has Smile

I need to re-edit my constant typos... even then I rarely get it right Sad

Why do I find this difficult to believe? Could it be all the juvenile and ejaculatory posts you've left around this site? I know I'm not the only one who tires of reading them; members would be more likely to help you if they saw a hint of patience or humility in your writing. And most or all of the information you need is readily available on this site if you just take a moment to click around and possibly use the search bar occasionally, before asking for someone else to spend their time doing it for you.

Just sayin'.

schoolhacker,

You ought not be so demanding. Screaming "WHO MADE THIS SYSTEM!" is obnoxious.

If you have problems with the site, you should type them up in a mature, grown-up way and then get on with your life.
