Spelunky

I finally managed to finish Spelunky (classic freeware version) for the first time! Smile
Probably be rarely able to do it again. Even though I do get through to the end game boss monster quite often, but I usually don't have enough bombs or don't have the equipment to be able to reach the exit if I manage to kill him.

Note: The Mac version was released in 2012, so still not old enough for uploading here. I haven't been able to find a working download link in the few places I tried, but there might still be one somewhere. I do still have a copy of the original .dmg file for Mac OS X.

if it is freeware, is the 10 year rule still in effect?

See the MG Rules page, under Exceptions.

This is the most frequently ignored rule, in a person's eagerness to upload files here and they do stand a good chance of being removed once uploaded... depends...

At least one of the Mirrors (DepositFiles) from the offical announcement page still works, but I could upload it here if it is eligible.

I don't know this game or it's origin, but it looks like it's freeware that needs a permanent home, so I think you can upload it if it meets the "Exceptions" clauses (I think it does). Thanks.

Source code (Spelunky_v1.3_Source.zip) seems to be completely gone, though. Sad

Edit: It may be worth mentioning to anyone interested that the downloadable binaries are Intel-only.

The Usenet.nl mirror says it is still there, but you have to register and that means using a credit card (so they can charge you after the 14 day free trial finishes). Sad

Pretty sure that usenet.nl "mirror" is fake, as it's the only link to say, in tiny letters in grey color on a white background, ">> SPONSORED LINK <<".

It does look like it would be fun.
