Requesting hypercard software for textbook - Analytical Engine

Analytical Engine: An Introduction to Computer Science Using HyperCard 2.1 (Computer Science Series)

This is a great text, I have the book but no disk. Wondering if anyone has this? Would greatly appreciate an upload if you do.

Here is the link to the book on amazon

ha weird.

I just copied this to a hard drive 2 days ago. I'll figure out how to make the proper 800k img & upload it.

I, too, would be very interested in getting a copy of this software. (The book isn't very useful without it). Please let us know when this is available.
Thanks

Hi All,

Some weeks ago, I wrote to author Stuart Hirshfield asking about disk content.
He replied:
"Given that the text and associated materials are long since out of print, you have our permission
to request them in whatever form you wish. You probably should check with Cengage Publishing,
as they are the official publishers of the last version of the text."

I have asked for a backup of these stacks in many places on the internet and still I am waiting for an answer.
Using WorldCat, I found the book in many libraries in USA and just one library in Germany.

Maybe someone could ask the book (with the single disk or the older version with 2 disks) as an interlibrary loan from the city where you live.

Let's try

Alejandro

Finally, a Software Developer from UK found the Floppy and posted the disk content in the LiveCode Forum.
If you are still looking for these HyperCard stacks, visit the forum and read the thread:

May I conclude that you have collected all missing parts meanwhile Alejandro?
I would not mind paying four bucks for the book, but I presume the floppy would be missing (again) or damaged from X-rays by US mail.
Looking through the thread you linked above, I did not see a link for a usable disk image, maybe just my fault?

I feel that The Analytical Engine would be a useful addition for Macintoshgarden.

Quickly searching through that thread, I found a link to a zip file on Dropbox.

The StuffIt and Compact Pro files contained within seem to have the original HyperCard stacks, their contents look identical. There is also a zip file inside, which might be damaged. Quite likely that it was supposed to be another means of archiving the same set of stacks.

The HyperCard files are looking good. Are you going to create a page for AE?
Don´t know nothing about the item. Wink

Neither do I! Laughing out loud

You're welcome to beat me to it, if you'd like.

So, the files Duality managed to find are uploaded.

Could somebody asking for the stacks, brush up the AE page. please?
If someone could add images of the original floppies, that would be best of course.
DsikDup+ did a good job on all kind of floppy images including 800k, given you own the matching hardware for that.
