Request: Please check "Who is Oskar Lake?"

Recently, I got this game, an adventure game with the goal to learn Spanish.
The manual said, when the game starts, you'll be asked in which language you want to see the translations, offering English, French, German, Spanish and Italian (can be changed later in the game, too) .

But if *I* want to run the game, the only msg I see is "This game needs 4 MB of RAM",
regardless which environment I tried to run this game: PowerBook 190cs, Pismo, Bas and Sheep.

I get the same messsage as you when I run on a G3 with System 9.2.2. When I run on an LC630 with Mac OS 7.5.5 everything works perfectly.

Ok; tried on SS and got the same result as you. BUT when I restarted SS in 7.6 and ran the installer I got to the Language Selector but then a black screen. This might be sorted by installing QT2.5.

The trouble is running this under a system newer than 7; http://whoisoscarlake.com/support/support.html#FAQ5
Tried 'Wayback Machine' for the patch but no luck. Sad

But there seems to be one (two?) upgraded versions claiming OSX and G3; http://www.wor.com/pd-who-is-oscar-lake-german2.cfm?OID=2857

@SwedeBear: If you look at the messages during the install you see that it installs the version of QT it requires. I guess this might be a problem if you have another version installed of QT installed and it gets loaded instead.

Thanks for your testings, I've not tried with Mac OS 7 before. Now, I started Basilisk with the Mac OS 7.5.5 disk image available at HOTU before, and now I see the language selection screen as well.

Installing using Mac OS 7.5.5 image d/led from HOTU as boot volume was a bit tricky. Even if I told to install on a different disk, the Installer said "There is not enough room on 'BootStrap'" (which is the name of the HOTU 7.5.5 boot disk). Installing Application only on a different hard disk worked so far.

Game started displaying a movie in Bas, running a few seconds until Error type 10 occurs.

I discovered that Sound Manager 3.1+ is still missing. Copied it from another Mac installation onto that boot volume, restarted Mac OS 7.5.5 emulated in Bas, and it works finally.

I think SwedeBear is right about installing Qt2.5 in Sheep to get it running.

Clicking one of the options...
"Está bien" ("That's correct").
