Request New Home for Free Macintosh PowerBook Expansion Bay Module.

To cut a long story short, my family purchased a G3 PowerBook a long time ago; it broke down and we ended up exchanging it for an iBook, (that I use to this day). However, the Macintosh PowerBook Expansion Bay Module that came with it, remains. (It's a floppy drive for the G3 PowerBook).

Obviously this module is of no use to me - but it might be of use to someone else. If so, then please feel free to contact me, and I will happily send it to you, free of charge. The Module is in a nice green & white apple box (Copyright 1998), complete with grey foam packaging.

I'm in West Asia - but I'll happily send it by courier half way around the world if required. Please e-mail me if you're interested.

I would be interested, as i have a powerbook that uses that type of module, but I'm guessing the shipping is pretty steep these days.

Great - then please e-mail me the address, and I'll despatch it to you. I'll pay for shipping - even if you're in Antarctica: the satisfaction of knowing that someone will benefit from this module will easily make it worthwhile.

looks like swedebear beat me to it though. figures I would see the original post too late to take advantage. offers for free stuff like this don't come too often, and are almost nonexistant in the US now. I'm sure by now you have seen his email. If you have anything else though. please kep me in mind. I have little money, but am always looking for things to add to my macintosh collection.

Well I hope swedebear's email did get through. I could never get mine to work either way, when I was still trying to respond.

I'm afraid I haven't received swedebear's email. I tried to e-mail him and had the server send a confirmation e-mail to my account - and that didn't go through either, (i.e. I didn't receive the confirmation email).

Anyway, to contact me, just add @yahoo.com to my username.

Well got the email to send and then couldn't get on to mg to let you know, it showed you online until I got the login to work, so hopefully you see this. It was only a test email. If it works, I'll send the address Info, it's 3:30 in the morning here and I'm running on fumes lol. Part of the trouble was that I had typed the email address wrong three times, and then wondered why it bounced back, oh well. I'll check my email when I get back up.

Btw. You might want to check your spam folder for our email attempts, yahoo has had a persistent issue with emails being bounced to the spam folder. It's possible mine and swedebear's emails might end up there, so I figured I would give you a head's up

If rob_1's closer I think he might be better off with the floppy. I've still the CD-ROM and SCSI to connect the Kanga with the rest of the world. 8-)

Hi swedebear, where do you live?. I am thinking that the spam issue might be the reason neither of us has heard from him on yahoo. I still can't believe that yahoo hasn't fixed that yet, but still I am finding that even emails from addresses that I have checked as "not spam" have eventually ended up bouncing to the spam folder anyway, because it seems that yahoo "forgets" the preferences. Ugh.

Ah, well I've never been near Yahoo-stuff especially after their declaration how they (mis)treated info on their customer so this just gives me more water on that particular mill.
Oh and I'm located in Sweden… Wink

oh well I am in the southeastern US. I should have figured out your location by your username.. but yahoo has been bouncing emails to spam for years now. sad considering I have had a yahoo account since 1997. it seemed to work a whole lot better then.

Well, I share your opinion on how things worked then. Wink

I would think this is whats happened too. Yahoo mail is the worst offender WRT mail not reaching the destination before the user OK's it by clearing it from their spam-bin on line.

true. in fact I know at one point it cost me a computer case, because both mine and the other's replies kept being bounced, regardless of the settings, with one email that was sent but never received, it's not as bad as it was when that was going on, but it's enough to be really annoying

Ok, thanks. Just making sure that spam issue doesn't foul things up.

I'm afraid the courier insists on a telephone number. (I thought an address would be enough, but apparently not.)

The drive arrived today.. not bad , I thought it would be longer. I see why the phone number was needed, as the guy attempted to call before he got there. I almost didn't get it as I was at the store, but my father was able to sign for it. for some reason the guy left a pad of those "Sorry we missed you" door hangers on the porch. I didn't expect DHL, as I had thought they had pulled U.S deliveries, but I'm guessing that they still ship international orders.

Figured I would give an update on this drive. I hadn't realized it had been so long. I had acquired a powerbook g3 "wall street" base (no display) that was functional, but had a bad floppy module. this drive was a perfect match for that, and the drive is in perfect working condition. I'm sorry I didn't update sooner.
