"Please unlock the disk..."

Recently I trapped again over the

"Please unlock the disk 'Blahblahblah' and try again. The desktop file couldn't be created"

err msg, when mounting a disk image in System 6 in Mini vMac, even with self-created Disk Copy 4.2 images, so I switched over to the Mini vMac blanks.zip disk images.

First attempt to mount such an image will Mac OS to ask either to eject or initialize it.
Choose initialize, then confirm the upcoming 'delete' command to make the disk image finally readable in System 6, and now you're ready to copy your stuff onto that disk image.

I was a bit surprised that the unmodified blanks disk image also won't mount in System 6 in the first place, but the step given above will fix this issue. Mostly it'll work from outside only, but tried to mount from inside vMac, the err msg may still will be displayed.

The guy who develops Mini vMac is really approachable and friendly, I would recommend sending him an e-mail about something like this.

... to upload the result to MacGarden.

Yes, the Mini vMac developer is a very friendly person.
