OSX under VirtualBox (Video RAM)

I have heard complaints that the latest VirtualBox does not allow (or show) more than 8MB of video RAM in the OSX Guest operating system. Is this true? and can you install NVidia drivers inside the guest OS?

Any help gratefully accepted. Smile

Oh, it's OSX 10.6.x under VirtualBox 4.12 Win7

it will allow more than 8mb of video ram, the only limit i know of is that you cannot assing moe than 75% of your host comps ram to a vm, also there are no video drivers for osx in virtualbox, it uses it's emulated video card.

i personally can't get my osx vm to boot on 4.12 anymore, something in the update broke it

It's cool. I downloaded the vmware image of 10.6.8, and it runs "OK" for a virtual machine... Could not get VirtualBox to stop locking up my 'puta Sad

VmWare uses a VESA driver for graphics. I would not call the resulting "emulation" a virtual machine, but it was usable and fast for non-graphical tasks.
