New SheepShaver and Basilisk II for Windows: August 30, 2010

New builds of SheepShaver and Basilisk II for Windows (dated August 30, 2010) are available now:

http://www.emaculation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5325 (SheepShaver)

The only new thing, though, is that these builds now play a start-up sound (bong!) that is supplied by the user (an authentic sound file is provided in the download, though).

Old time users will recall that the original Windows port of Basilisk II (from ten years ago) could locate the startup sound in the ROM file and play it on boot. This is close to that, at least.

So...
according to the description, they took 10years to make the ¨Bong¨sound now available
now included in the file...

Not exactly... but close.

Basilisk II was "re-ported" (sort of) to Windows around 2005 and one feature that was lost was the startup sound. No one bothered to put that code back in until now.

When I downloaded the SheepShaver one, opening the application will hear the Quadra starup sound instead of PowerMac 9500 startup sound. Here is the new one: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?g8f35lul8waije0
