NEW MDD HARD DRIVE CADDY

Hi All,

I talked to a friend who mentors a robotics team. Part of the engineering done by the team is CAD work. He had his team draft up a 3D printable caddy that fits both spots on the inside of the MDD. The caddy or whatever you want to call it was designed to fit two 2.5" drives. It was also designed to be able to use a certain PATA-SATA adapter (I'm sure others will fit as well).

I'm not certain if it is allowed to be posted here, or what the deal is which is why I am asking. The file is freely available (as soon as I figure out where to post it). He'd like donations (which go to the team) if you like it and use it. You really shouldn't re-sell it or anything like that.

I can post more about the team / files if this is something that is ok.

Sorry for the long delay, I've been away. Is there a specific location I can upload the cad files and some photos of what the finished product looks like?

You buy a new 3.5 hard drive from OWC are IDE and (ATA) PATA
Here is link to OWC
The biggest drive at 3.5 is 480 GB at price $199.99
This drive will work on MDD. I have this drive.

MDD best computer ever.
There's 1000 fun things that can be done to increase performance, and when all added up is competitive with today's new systems while still operating OS9 natively, and because new computers won't be getting better any more, it matters.
Wikipedia is stupid article on MDD, always has been bent propoganda anti-MDD. Their 1st paragraph has long stated "no improvement over previous models" tho out of context here, in reference to processor-bus-only, it can only be true if comparing a 133MHz MDD to previous model, ignoring the 167MHz MDD. This, plus wiki's nonsense about audio glitches and excuse-making for 'nap mode' reveal their anti-MDD bent. It's long overdue that wikipedia admit the MDD 'side fan' can only face in one direction, and Apple sold them facing the wrong way.

Caddies have two lobes for screwholes used in securing to the tower, one lobe gets used in the front caddy position, the other lobe gets used when in the rear caddy placement.

23" Black PATA cables (precious!) for connecting optical drive(s), cables have gotten damaged because if the cable is not perfectly seated along the inside left tower wall, the unused lobe on the forward OEM caddy can stab into the ribbon cable, like a steel knife blade. Be extra cautious inserting the frontmost caddy not to damage the ribbon cable, or, I cut that unused lobe off my forward caddy so I won't have that problem again.

(Found typo in original post here. The drives are 3.5" wide not 2.5") - unless... your reproduction actually is for 2.5" ? do tell.
To answer the o.p. question, try the "create an app" page here on m.g. and photos can go in the 'screenshot' section (the first screenshot is used as title page in the m.g. catalog), documentation can go in the 'manual' section as .pdf or .txt
If it ends up seeming not-right, then deleting the page will be even easier (tho i'm not a moderator) than creating it.
