Hello,

Download the Lantern DDK from: http://www.unna.org/unna/apple/development/DDKs/FullLanternDDK.sit
Point Einstein at one of these two files:
Lantern DDK 1.0 Beta/Debugging/MP2000 ROM Image (717006)/Senior CirrusNoDebug image
Lantern DDK 1.0 Beta/Debugging/eMate 300 ROM Image (717006)/Newt KNoDebug image
Be a little patient, and it should start up.
I did that, but it won't start up. I am on Windows 7 64 Bits.
I ran Basilisk II to stuff it and copy the ROMs to my HD.
If i'm pointing Einstein to the ROMs and press Start, it doesn't run at all
Try copying "C:\Program Files\OpenEinstein\2007.7\Einstein.rex" into the same directory as the two "Senior CirrusNoDebug" files and launch Einstein again.
If that doesn't work, try the following:
1- Rename "Senior CirrusNoDebug image" to "717006.aif"
2- Rename "Senior CirrusNoDebug high" to "717006.rex"
3- Copy "C:\Program Files\OpenEinstein\2007.7\Einstein.rex" into the directory containing both 717006 files.
4- Start Einstein
5- Pick "717006.aif" as your ROM file.
It did ALMOST work, but now it says: The program needs to close because of an error. I am going to try this on my Powerbook
Odd. it worked for me on an Intel Mac...
Make sure you don't give the Newton more than 8MB of emulated RAM or it will hang on bootup.
I just tried this, and followed Pablomarx's instructions and it Worked!!
on a XP machine,
now I just have to figure out how to install programs.
Thanks!
I think the issue is that I have the x64 version of Windows 7.
That might be an issue,
You should go back to Win XP
So far, it is the most compatible OS with ALL kind of software
(I mean you could use Virtual PC, which is free and install Win XP/Win 98 within Windows 7),
But I'm confused by this:
...I ran Basilisk II to stuff it and copy the ROMs to my HD.
If i'm pointing Einstein to the ROMs and press Start, it doesn't run at all
- Why are you using Basilisk to stuff it and copy the ROMS?
I didn't have to do that, I use the Windows version of Einstein:
"EinsteinPlatform2007.7.6-MSWindows"
Installed it, download the ROM from Pablomarx link and followed His instructions
(changing the name, etc..) and it Worked.
And then you mention that You would try it in your Powerbook,
So are you trying EINSTEIN for the Windows, or Mac?
I'm trying to run it on Windows and Mac. The emulator works on my Powerbook, but not on my PC.
And I used Basilisk II to stuff the file FullLanternDDK.sit because the file is a Stuffit Expander format (oops, I forgot Stuffit Expander for Windows). But I think it runs better on Windows than on my Powerbook G3 Lombard 400 MHz, because the sound and screen lags. And if you turn sound off, the screen lags.
Oh, Okay,
that was just a bit confusing.
Thanks very much.
All worked on my Windows XP.
Also, I've uploaded the file provided by pablomarx with all the modifications applied: http://www.badongo.com/file/19002028
Enjoy!
Could someone pls post a working install of this? (C:\Program Files\Einstein) as I cannot get this to work at all. When it did boot (ONCE ONLY), it ran slower than a sloth caught in wet tar.
I'm sure I can do better with a 3.0GHz Core-2-Duo!!!
