Need Help Getting Games to Work

Okay, I finally figured out how to setup VMiniMac and am now ready to do some gaming! How do I take the .sit files from this site and get them to work? I am currently using the Unarchiver, but it says some of the .sit files on this site are corrupted.
What's going on?

You need to move the sit files onto a Disk image first (most probably a Disk Copy disk image to be mounted in Mini vMac) to un-sit the files within the emulator. The most compatible version for Mini vMac is Stuffit 4.x

The files should be fine and the Unarchiver does a good job - usually.
Some files, however will want to be inflated with Stuffit7 (Expander).
You might set up SheepShaver to run Stuffit7 or someone here might copy the desired files in some kind of container MiniVMac can read.

I'm gonna try using StuffIt, but as a backup, if anyone can prepare the game 'Shufflepuck Cafe' for MiniVMac I'd be greatly appreciative. I'm dying to play a computer version and not the Famicom version.

The downloads work, thanks a lot, but how do I convert them into the proper file format for MiniVMac?

An .img file is a virtual diskette. To insert it into your virtual Mac Plus, drag it onto the Mini vMac window.

I'm dying to play a computer version and not the Famicom version.

Ouch, I can barely imagine Shufflepuck without a mouse...

Thanks for the effort, 24bit, this disk image file needs to be uploaded to the game's site
(current d/l contains floating files only, but disk image would be preferred).

IIGS_User, adding the files to amazonaws should be easy enough.
Which one should be chosen?
img would be most conveniant, but will the image survive downloads to non Mac machines?

Hmmm, I can drag the files into MiviVMac, but the icon of a disk with an X over it appears. On my iMac's GUI, Shufflepuck and others have an O with a slash over it, and trying to open it brings up the error that Classic Mode is Unsupported. Anyone encounter this before?

The stuffed one.

Mister_Alex, when you drag the game disk image onto Mini vMac, is it already booted with a plain system disk? The X and O Tic Tac Toe tells that this disk image can't be used to boot the particular (emulated) Mac.
Please get a plain boot disk from the Mini vMac Application Site, boot Mini vMac with it, and drag the game disk image onto Mini vMac again. It should be mounted w/o problems then.

I'm sorry to have to report another failure, but dragging the .IMG file after booting does work. . . but it tells me it isn't a Macintosh disk and needs to be initialized.
Which is kinda funny, in that I encountered the same problem with another Mac enthusiast tried copying these games onto physical disks for me. . . .

Try this if you wish - some games and Stuffit are already included.

The Transport image can be mounted with Macs/emulators prior to 10.6 to move some files.
Transport must not be mounted by more then one OS at the same time.
ImportFl might be useful too. http://minivmac.sourceforge.net/doc/start.html
When shifting MacClassic files around on non Mac systems, be sure to stuff them as .sit to preserve resource forks.
Otherwise the files are useless.

Thanks a lot, 24bit! The Shufflepuck file works fine, can't wait to play. Is there anyway I can thank you? I may be able to mention you on my website, or provide a link to one of your own.

You´re welcome Mister Alex. Glad to hear it works for you.
Be sure to check MiniVMacs speed settings, press and hold Ctrl + s.
Some games may run much too fast at default speed.
You may have noticed that 3.1.3 is not the most recent version of MiniVMac.
If you would like to support further proceedings, you might consider donating a little to the developer.
Some people here - like me - would love to see MiniVMac emulating a MacII in 24bit/32bit mode.
