multiple disk problem

I downloaded the game "Star Trek 25th anniversary" and when I run it through stuffit expander I get multiple disk images. When I click on a disk image it tells me it "could not be opened, because the application program that created it could not be found." How do I install multiple disk images?

From this page, http://macintoshgarden.org/games/star-trek-25th-anniversary
the first DL expands to a folder with the game in it.
The second DL indeed is a folder with floppy images. The floppy images can be mounted with DiskCopy 6.
Run DC6 and drag the images onto the DC6 window to mount them.
You may run the installer from StarTrek#1 now, as all images are mounted.
The error you ran into is a common issue with DiskCopy 4.2 images.

In case you are running a Mac emulator on a Windows host, the sit file should be transferred to a Mac volume via the shared folder and inflated on the Mac side with Stuffit.
Be sure to copy files to a Mac volume, not to the Mac desktop.

Thank you I will give it a try. By the way, I am emulating with Basilisk II if that makes any difference.

Is this the program you were talking about?

No, that page has bad usermade versions based on Disk Copy 4.2

24bit was referring to the official Apple made Disk Copy 6x; found on this page if you don't have a copy already installed with your Basilisk II.

They are all lumped together in 1 download on the page, - you should use version 6.3.3 as it was the final official Apple release of the 6.3x series and the most stable.

Sorry to bother you guys again but I have been trying for a week now to get this to work. I download the file, it comes up as a text file, I drag it to stuffit expander, I get an .img file and a .sit file and neither seems to want to install anything, what am I doing wrong?

No problem.
I added a third file on the Star Trek page for you to degrade your frustration level a bit. Smile
The zipped disk image holds a folder with the game installer plus a folder with the installed game.
I tried in SheepShaver and found it working with 256 colours.
Add the unzipped 3.DL to your Volumes tab and the image should mount in your emulator.
Best move the game folder to your Mac volume or install a new copy on your desired volume.

After you played the game, we can always get down to your original issue again. Wink
