MacDomain's new Hotline tracker

Hi!

I just started up a hotline tracker on the same machine that runs MacDomain's hotline server.
Right now the only server registerd on it is our mighty server, but i hope that other people will choose to register their hotline servers on the tracker as well.

It's our goal to make it the largest tracker for Macintosh abandonware out there Smile

MacDomain have been around since early 2003 and we are not going away anytime soon, and i hope that the hotline tracker will get used. Either way it will be up for as long as i have internet at home Smile

URL: tracker.macdomain.org
Use it to list servers in your Hotline client and to register your server on the tracker. No password is required.

We are working on a web based searchengine for the tracker, much like tracker-tracker had when it was up and running.

Anyway, the tracker is up and running, our hotline server is up and running, hope you will enjoy it Smile

BTW, drop by on http://www.macdomain.org/ if you feel like it Tongue

Why would it work with Classilla? You need a hotline client to connect to a hotline server or use a hotline tracker.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotline_Communications <-- Might be a good to read if you don't know what hotline is.

EDIT: The link you posted is about HotMAIL not working with Classilla, HotLINE is a completely different thing.

And if you're on Mac OS 10.7 or later, use this one:

Note that Java is required. Just double-click the .jar.

The official Hotline Server was/is PPC only, but it runs great with Rosetta in 10.6 Smile

The Java client works well with 10.6. But if you're on 10.5, use this one:

I know one person who's developing a Hotline client for OS X and iOS (yes, that means Hotline on iPhone!). So far he's only sharing it with our circle of friends but it's coming along well. Regardless, the protocol is very simple and it wouldn't take a lot of work (relatively speaking) to develop a new HL server for OS X. That said, Hotline is quite overlooked now, and most ppl have moved to Wired or KDX. Still, many purists keep Hotline running because it is "THE" original server/client software for Mac that really took off and boosted the Mac community by leaps & bounds Smile
