Just got a MacBook Pro

I have the high-end 15" MacBook Pro.

If I install Sheepshaver and run OS 9 - will this run any game on this website fairly well, or should I just purchase a PowerBook Pismo G3 for ~$100?

Did you read the SheepShaver docs. Which Mac OS does it support from / to ? You're going to find it mimics a particular early PPC chip, so you range of OS support is limited. As a start, it won't support an OS after OS9.0.4, so if a game requires any OS after this you've had it.

If you can afford a Pismo, go for it. SS will definetly not run each and every game on MG.
As soon as dedicated hardware is required for gaming or a cpu better than PPC604, the Shaver will fail.
On the other hand, Mac OS 7.5.3 to 9.04 can be emulated with SheepShaver at quite good speed on Intel/OSX, so it might be worth a try. Baldurs Gate, Myst, Starship Titanic and such are running with SheepShaver. The very old games here may even need 68k emulation (BasiliskII or MiniVMac) to be played.
