You can't do it on the PC unless you have a Mac emulator running on your PC. You will lose the resource fork if you do it in PC space. You need to use some version of stuffit/unstuff on your mac.

Most of us have an OSX machine or a Classic machine (Motorola/PPC/G3) with internet capablity.
So we either download to the classic machine or to Sheepshaver/Basilisk on the OSX machine and go from there. If your Classic has a SCSI port I would try to pick up an old Apple External CD ROM. That would be one way to transfer data. Burn to CD on the PC and then read on Apple CD-ROM.

You should be able to read PC formatted floppies on your Classic.
It is also possible to make self-expanding/extracting archives with stuffit.
(isn't HQX self -extracting?)
So all you need to get started is a self-extracting version of drop unstuff on a pc floppy.

What OS are you running? I'm sure somebody would be happy to send you a compatible copy of drop unstuff on a floppy. Or if you can get .img files you can mount them with disk copy.

That's what I mean. I've no idea where to get a ready-to-use StuffIt Expander 4.x or 5.x now.

.sea means "Self-Extracting Archive" and should work by double-click.
This one doesn't require an expander application, because it's built-in.

So that means all I need to do is format a floppy to mac format and move that onto it?

Its already done. Just use the dsk I pointed to in your other thread. http://ubuntuone.com/36DQK6V7fRfbAYZ5yRBtRL
Copy the file to floppy with a utility of your choice. HFVExplorer, dd or the DOS thingie you found.
Stuffit3.6 installer is on the image, which should work with many files here.
(Some are Stuffit5 or higher, another story.)

Please consider setting up an Emulator BasiliskII/SheepShaver on your Windows box as helper "Mac".
You will run into the same problem any time you want to move file to/from the ClassicII otherwise.

Hi Longboarder241,
I recently download and used the .img of Mac OS 7.0.1 from this web page.Worked perfect.
First I managed to write the files at 1.44 diskettes using a PC and winImage.
Worth it.
