Help setting up Basilisk

I'm getting frustrated. Working with directions, I set up Basiliskll to run on my PowerBook G4. I got to the point where I was ready to install O/S 7.5.3 However, the shared folder was not showing up on the desktop, the one that contains the 19 install floppies.

Long story short, I did some things... now I can't launch Basilisk any more, because everytime I try to launch it doesn't recognize the ROM, the SAME ROM that had worked before to get me to the Apple Desktop. I've tried a new ROM copy but that didn't work.

I deleted everything and started over, but when I brought up the new Basilisk app from the download and configured it, it was still pointing towards the floppy, the hard disk, and the install disk that I had made previously. I did a search for Basilisk preferences but I can't find it in my Preference folder, so I don't know how to delete this cache and start clean.

What's going on and how do I get this program running?

Thanks!

Never mind. I got it running. It was a mismatch with the ROM and Machine. Also the Share folder had a space in the name so that's why it wasn't recognized.

Your user name folder holds invisible files:
.basilisk_ii_prefs
.basilisk_ii_xpram

Some goes to SheepShaver, witch is up to hold these invisible files:
.sheepshaver_nvram
.sheepshaver_prefs

Thank llGS! It never occurred to me that the preference file would be invisible! This is good information. I think I'll have a peek at the prefs using TinkerTool and Text Wrangler. Smile

These invisible prefs files, you can't edit them manually without making them visible first. Sad
To set my Basilisk setup, I'm running the BasiliskIIGUI application described at emaculation.
