Ooh, I was just about to look for a thread like this.

I'd like to see the Williams-Sonoma Guide to Good Cooking CD-ROM that came with the G3 iMac. Hopefully I'll have my copy on Saturday when I go to get my stuff from my parents' house, and I can upload it myself, but it may have been lost.

Another one I'd like to see is a CD-ROM that Apple put out called "Apple Interactive Music Software" or something like that. I don't remember all that was on it, but it had interviews with Keb' Mo' (who began by saying, "It's Keb' Mo', right here inside your computer!"), the cranberries, and I think one other act.

Games that you would like to see uploaded onto Macintosh Garden?

I've uploaded the version of William Sonoma's Guide to Good Cooking that I received with a rev C iMac here:

(The zip file contains the CD image in bin/toc format).

I have an original copy of this CD as well. I note the following flaws:
1) The app will not run unless the CD is currently mounted;
2) My monitor MUST be set to thousands of colors;
3) After a brief but dramatic Quicktime Movie Intro, the app crashes;

Mac OS 9.2.2, G4 circa 2002 (867 mhz) 1.5 GB RAM; QT Pro 6.0.3

Thanks a lot! It's working fine in SheepShaver, which is all I care about.

The program works on OS 8.6, but I had similar problems to Gary's when I tried it on OS 9.1.

(This reminded me a little of the Heroes of Might and Magic II CD-rip version that works fine on OS 8.6, but won't load saved games on OS 9.)

If you search for "busytown macintosh" on eBay, you'll see that there are a variety of Busytown titles available, including a bundle that includes the two titles you're looking for. You could snatch them and upload them here Smile.

I was able to request How Things Work in Busytown and another Richard Scarry program, Best Activity Center Ever, on interlibrary loan, and I'll pick up Best Reading Center Ever at the local library when I go there tomorrow. It looks like the only library in my state that has Busytown doesn't send their CD-ROMs on interlibrary loan, unfortunately, and I found a game called McGee at the Fun Fair, but it's on floppy, so I don't have a way of accessing it.
