French Classic installer for Mac OS X Panther

Hi,

Only the english installers are available on the site for Panther and Tiger (via ht Multilingual installer link). Is there anyone who has or could get a copy for me of the french installer?

Thank you very much,

François

De rien... Wink

There is not this version, I have not found it. But instead of, u can DL the Mac OS F-9.1 (French) & then apply updates as I have added them here recently.

Yes but the problem with that one is that the .img seems corrupted. I tried booting with the 9.2.2 universal 2013 and mount the image, but it says the format is not good. I tried to mount it in MacOS 10.12 and 10.3 and it fails.

This image is not bootable. Which config do u have ? Or do u try to install it in an emulator ?

I know it is not bootable.

I have an iBook G3 Clamshell SE 466 Mhz. I booted at first with an english 9.2.2 cd and tried to mount the image. However, I get an error message saying that the format is not valid.

Ok. I presume u have not the original disks included also. For the "img" format, u need to convert it in ".dmg" with Apple disk Utility for make it to mount in OS X.

Perfect. I will first convert it to dmg on mac os x tonight then extract put it on my usb pen. Boot from a 9.2.2 cd, format the drive, and install Mac OS 9.1 Fr. Update to 9.2.2. Then install Mac OS X Panther. I would then have everything I want minus Office 2004 that I have to find somewhere Wink.

Ok. Let us know if it's good for u. The 9.2.1 (french) update is required first before apply the 9.2.2 once Mac OS 9.1 will be installed. Smile There is Office 2004 here. May be it can be installed in french if the language of the system is recognized, but I'm not sure as I have not tested it.

It went trough it. I booted with a 9.2.2 english cd, initialize the drive, instal 9.1 Fr, install 9.2.1 update and finally 9.2.2. Finally, I installed Mac OS X Panther. I have a complete french system now.

Cool. As Mike suggest it, u can also install a preinstalled version in the page he linked to (just below). It's like u prefer. I think I will add here an original french disc for this machine if I found it... Smile

French 9.2.2 is also on this page. Its not a bootable installer as such, but is a complete System ready to go.

Hi,

I tried it. However, there is an error message when starting it saying something about a missing printer driver.
