eBay: Apple Inside Macintosh Developer bookset - Complete!

I came across this by chance just now on ebay and it may appeal to those hobby programmers in the garden. At USD90 it's not cheap though.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Apple-Inside-Macintosh-Developer-bookset-Complete-/2...!

seller's description:
Own the authentic Apple Inside Macintosh hardware/programming book set in one go! Apple calls this the "Old Inside Macintosh", while the "New Inside Macintosh" had not only different covers, but was split over 13 tomes (I have most parts of that set, not all, but inquire if interested in completing your own set - I can include a copy of the Apple doc which explains where the material from the old volumes ended up in the new ones). There's also an older (by date) set which has a different cover (images of the early Apple motherboards). That one is now sold.

All books are in almost-perfect condition as seen above. No apparent yellowing, writing or such (I didn't see any while I went through the books - maybe I missed a few pages - there are over 1,000 pages after all!). Two exceptions: there's a signature on the first page of the Revised X-Ref and a stamp on the first page of the non-revised X-Ref. I'm sure you won't mind them though once you realize they are special Wink

Whole set is ~25lbs heavy, so shipping will be pricey, but you're getting SIX (6) books of wholesome vintage 68k Mac goodness! Usually the individual books sell around $25 (without shipping), giving a rough valuation of $150 for the set, again without shipping. So, this is a unique opportunity for you to get the whole set at once and save on both shipping and effort in trying to track down the matching parts! Don't miss out.

What's included:

* Inside Macintosh Volumes I, II, and III
* Inside Macintosh Volume IV (supplements Vol.I-III w/ info about Mac Plus, Mac 512K Enhanced models)
* Inside Macintosh Volume V (supplements Vol.I-IV w/ info about Mac SE and Mac II models)
* Inside Macintosh Volume VI (supplements Vol.I-V w/ info about System Software v7.0)
* Inside Macintosh X-Ref
* Inside Macintosh X-Ref, Revised Edition

I, II, and III have been scanned (http://www.pagetable.com/?p=50). At least some versions of the X-Ref are online too, but IV, V, and VI need to be scanned. I might be able to get copies of at least some of them and scan them...

Ooo, I had I, II and III. And then most of the 'New' Inside Macintosh. All have gone recently to the charity shop. I may still have the Human Interface Guidelines book. Broke my heart to part with them, and don't get me started on the Scott Knaster programming books I also took to the shop ....

@bertyboy:

A lot of my grandfather's books, magazines, and CDs (including lots of software from his MUG) disappeared toward the end of his life, gotten rid of by my mother and her brothers. I managed to save a few MacAddict magazines, the 3rd edition of the Macintosh Bible, the GS/OS Reference Guide, a few other books, and a CD or two, but the vast majority was destroyed. Sad

User group software (in the form of original disks or disk images) is almost impossible to get anymore Sad
