Do you want to replace this file?

I'm cataloging some files by adding a thumbnail to them via Adobe Illustrator. I'm updating them "in place" - overwriting the original file.

Each file I process (there are hundreds) results in a Dialog box showing up asking me if I want to replace the original file. The default button is "No" (or words to that effect) and the button I want ("Replace") requires a mouse click.

To speed things up I would like a keyboard equivalent for the "Replace" button. Is there one? If not, how can I add one?

Try QuicKeys if you are using an old enough system (not OS X)

The was a Control Panel called "Keys!" that would do this, but its proving difficult to locate.

You could try "Yes No Cancel" another dialog window control utility, that I'm thinking should be able to do what you're asking - I haven't tested so YMMV.

[Edit] since tried it out (Systems 7.1 to 9.0.4 - Basilisk II & SheepShaver only), it appears to do just fine and does what it claims to, so far.

>You could try "Yes No Cancel" ...

This Control Panel works EXACTLY as I wanted. I verify that it is compatible with 9.2.2 as well.

Thanks for the link.
