Date and time

Hello I just bought a powerbook 5300c that actually works. It has macos 9. For some reason everything works except when I turn it on the date and time keeps resetting and wont save. The battery is dead and wont charge. What can I do about the date and time?

If you have an active connection either wireless or wired, you can set the machine to use network time, as such it would sync over the net when booting.

I think there's a separate CMOS clock battery for this Mac. You may be able to replace it.

You may also need the take-apart PDF manual - if you don't have one for it:

You probably could also leave it connected to the mains supply (switched on), when PB is turned off.
