Corrupted files

Hi,

The "First Fight" ZIP Files (002 up to 004) are corrupted. I'm not able to open them with Stuffit Expander.

The first file is working with Expander.

Some Mirror Links are down to.

Please fix the issues. I really wanna enjoy the game.

Thanks a lot

Guess you are referring to this page?
http://macintoshgarden.org/games/close-combat-first-fight

On what kind of machine did you try to join/expand?
Did you try The Unarchiver?
Sorry for all the questions, my crystal ball got lost the other day. Wink

The files are parts of a single zipped archive. They are not corrupted (unless something happened to them during your download). Try using BetterZip to join the parts and uncompress the archive. There will be other ways of doing this, but I know using BetterZip works.

I downloaded the game sometime ago and all worked fine for me, so I do doubt the the actual upload is corrupt. I've had success using Keka for extraction, sometimes Stuffit or The Unarchiver have been temperamental for me in my experience.

However as, @mrdav explained most times the zip files get corrupted during your download (this has happened to me before), so maybe try re-downloading or using a download manager such as JDownloader (if you use a modern computer to download and extract then just copy the file to your Mac).

Have you tried this idea ?

1st download 4 parts again. but change the 1st part to expander only and leave other 3 parts. It work without problem. Sometimes the unarchiver don't work with many parts.

Yes, I installed BetterZip but somehow I'm not sure about how to handle it.
I've tried installing it with only the first part.
Somebody did ad a No-CD crack.
But yesterday evening I had to go sleeping in time before trying it out.
Maybe I'll have the time today.
What for do I need Part 2-4, if it's working without them as well?

As mrdav already explained, all four are needed.
Think of a DVD of holding 3.6GB game data.
Now this DVD is taken to create a disk image of it, the image size will be the same as the DVD, 3.6GB.
For convenience and ease of upload this somewhat huge file is cut in four chunks, each of them holding a little less then 900 MB.
After DL the four parts must be joined again to restore the 3.6 GB disk image, each single chunk alone is useless.

I agree you need all parts. 1st download 4 parts. And put 4 parts on desktop and get intro on on 1st part and change to expander. Then don't change the other 3 parts on desktop. I also upload close combat no serial and no DVD crack. I tested in mac os x 10.5.8 and works without a DVD.
