Yes i have the apple cd player installed. In the extensions i have the cd and dvd inside (i have a dvd rom drive). The following games run perfectly with their audio cd music:

Descent 1 & 2, Zero Critical, Blackthorne, Imperialism I & II, Heroes of Might and Magic.

I cannot get music from Quake, Warcraft I and Colonization. When i run the Apple cd player, the music plays just fine of all these three games where i see all the tracks and i can choose which one i want to hear. But in the game there is no music. Colonization has a jukebox inside the game but it has no result. It is like i run the games without the cd inside. I do not have this problem with my Macintosh Performa 6116CD.

At the beginning of Warcraft 2 there is an option for sound in source. There i choose the "cd" option and it works. Warcraft 1 does not have this option. In the game, at the preferences there is option to disable and enable the cd audio and also option for the volume. But nothing works. There is no music at all.

Colonization has a jukebox inside the game, like a cd player but nothing works. There is no music, the jukebox does nothing. The same for the songs that you may choose.

The above games, Warcraft and Colonization run also without the cd inside the drive. The same for Quake. Even when i have them inside the drive there is no sound. It is like i do not have anything inside.

All the above games run perfectly with their cd audio on my Macintosh Performa 6116CD with Sonnet G3 installed.

Also, other games run perfectly with the their cd audio music on my Power Macintosh G3 Minitower. These are: Zero Critical, Descent, Imperialism 1 & 2, Blackthorne, Carmageddon 1 & 2.

These three games run great on my Macintosh Performa 6116 but i want to play Quake on the G3 Minitower because i can have bigger resolution (Sony 15" monitor and ATI Radeon 7000 Mac Edition 32mb ram, my Performa is connected with the fixed 640x480 Macintosh Color Display Monitor) but i want also the scary music. Is there a possibility that all this has to do with the Wings Personality card?

This is interesting. For cd audio i always go to sound in panel and check the cd option. It's something i always check and change because i use also the Roland Sound Canvas SC88 for general midi sound for Sierra Online games and i have to check the mic for sound input. The music of the above mentioned games play successfully when i run the apple cd audio program to listen a music cd but it doesn't play inside the game. My Power Macintosh G3 Minitower has a dvd player and it must be original apple's player. Yesterday i played with success Carmageddon 2.

Happy new year to all. I haven't opened my powermac to see where is the drive connected but i can say that i just downloaded the update file for Quake and now i have audio music.
